Is Dem Leadership the worst it's ever been?

They can't do anything. That's my point. People who are disappointed at the Dem leadership I find ridiculous, they aren't on a position to do anything.

Trump does a lot of insane shit and Republicans just praise everything he does yet somehow people expect better from Dems leadership. I hate how low the bar for Trump its nauseating honestly.

I hold the constituents responsible for the mess that we're in. It's like the farmers who voted for Trump for his first term, got screwed, and voted for him again. It's crazy.
White men have risen.

I do think trump has thrown them for a loop and are bad at getting their info out to the general public.

It's both political incompetence and a deliberate strategy.

Just taking a beating and hoping Republicans collapse under their maleficence and overreaching doesn't work.

That will work, only if the country slips into a recession or people get hit in their pocket books.

People at the general elections, vote with their pocketbooks.

We'll see who comes out the winner of this shutdown. The R's should lose, since they are the party in control. But what spin will be put out there to blame the Ds? And will that spin work?

What is being proposed when it comes to new ideas, solutions to this country’s problems, how the democrats plan on making people’s lives better? Nothing, none.

Bull.

Healthcare, education, all sorts of stuff. Student loan debt. Prescriptions.

But you have an electorate where many if not most are dumber than dogshit.

They are worried about transgenders and "woke". This is only the fault of Democrats to an extent. Some of your points are valid. The messaging and marketing sucks.

We used to have a saying in the tech gadget industry: "You can't sell smart phones to dumb people!" That is somewhat in play here imo.

They are a pack of sad sacks.

Still a better option than the MAGAs.

R's control the narrative because no others can take the reins and control the narrative.
That is a sign of weakness, not being able to put out messages that resonate with people.
That's a sign for a stupid society.

Weakness is an awful buzzword that resonate with people who can't critically think.

If so, democrats aren’t talking about those issues. They constantly hammering Trump filling the airways with anti-Trump rhetoric. But were the people dumb last year? Or was it they wanted someone else since the democrats, Biden, Harris as his VP and the democrats in congress failed to address inflation, rising prices and immigration to their satisfaction. Those were the top two issues last year in how folks decided who to vote for. Here’s why they wanted the democrats replaced even if it meant by a candidate, former president they rejected in 2020, rather soundly.

Overall job approval 39% approval/57% disapproval

https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/joe-biden/approval-rating

Inflation, rising prices, 34% approval, 63% disapproval

https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/joe-biden/issues/inflation

And immigration, 33% approval. 65% disapproval

https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/joe-biden/issues/immigration

Were they dumb or did they just wanted a better life, a return to a better standard of living they had under Trump’s first term, someone they hoped would address the issues important to them?

Were they dumb or did they just wanted a better life, a return to a better standard of living they had under Trump’s first term,

Laughably moronic post all the way around IMHO, but what I've highlighted there is especially vapid IMHO.

Crooked donnie trump surely was not responsible for anyones "standard of living", good gawd. Crooked donnie came into a great situation, he didn't do anything but SCREW IT UP with his covid nonsense.

"Better standard of living during trumps first term" LMMFAO, good lord are we screwed.

That's the problem. In trying to create a Big Tent that tries to appease corporate moderate shitlibs who stand for NOTHING (and which Progressive have to nose-hold to caucus with), Dems have also created a coalition that is boxed in and incapable of either leadership or of being lead. It's leaderless because there is no coherence to the platform. There are no principles. It's just politics for the sake of politics and collecting corporate donations. Thus even when Dems try to make a big stand because of progressive pressure, it falls flat because there is no fortitude to the delivery and the messaging.

Dems are now in the worst possible position. They are taking a stand (on the Shutdown) that they won't truly believe in, which they cannot message, and which they will eventually cave on, and which Republicans actually don't care about because their goal is destroy government anyway. Mind you, this is a slam dunk for any politician with principles.

I understand your frustration I've felt that way about politics for quite some time.

It helped me to think of it as not voting for the best candidate but the one I thought was the least worst. It's a long game.
