Numerous reports are surfacing about large-scale corruption in Ukraine's defense sector during the war — fake weapons factories, overpriced outdated munitions, and even empty boxes sent to the front lines.

Allegedly, billions have been "written off" following missile strikes on facilities that were reported as fully operational but were actually empty.

News outlets claim this scheme was orchestrated under the supervision of President Zelensky’s top aide, Andriy Yermak, and was expanded through military administrations.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian soldiers reportedly suffered due to missing or defective supplies that existed only on paper.

If these claims are true, they raise serious questions about accountability within Ukraine's leadership during wartime.

But what do you think — are these stories credible or part of a disinformation campaign? Has anyone come across reliable evidence or counter-evidence?

Yes, a hoax by the pro-Putin trump Republican propaganda machine. No country is perfect, they'll make mountains out of molehills to discredit the protection of Ukraine.

People have no idea the corruption in the US in WWII. That's how Harry Truman got famous in the Senate and became FDR's VP, by heading a committee on war corruption. At least FDR wasn't selling meme coins with pictures of him at Iwo Jima.

Corruption has been a significant societal issue for every ex-Soviet country.

russian propaganda exaggerates this kernel of truth until nothing remains except fantastical stories.

russia's goal, of course, it to encourage enough skepticism and doubt so that russia can kill as many Ukrainians as it can without western help.

Interesting thesis with no backing - no links to any news organization or credible source. RT doesn't count.

You didn't post any links to these reports.

With nothing to back up your claims how can anyone really make any kind of discussion? Post some links and we can all go from there.

Fraud, Abuse and Corruption is everywhere. Use DOGE as a example. Why should Ukraine be any different or Russia for that matter? Same thing goes for non-profits and charities. Everyone cries out for more accountability but they also cry out when they're forced to provide it.

Yes...there is corruption. But Zelensky has been dealing with it. Clamping down on corruption is a requirement for EU membership.

Some of the stories are true. Others are manufactured rubbish from Russia or Pro-Russian Westerners.

To notice the corruption in Ukraine I'd need to see over the corruption in DC. Nobody's that tall.
If the corruption in Ukraine were anything like the right-wing propagandists say, it would be an issue, but it's greatly decreased from its historic situation and a false issue as far as I know.
