What are your thoughts on this?
The whole Oprah Winfrey "they hate him because he's black" comments got me thinking about this.
If Romney or McCain had gotten 91% of the white vote, would that have been considered racist?

Not necessarily, no. Many of the previous Democratic nominees received similarly large portions of the black vote. A quick Google search reveals this in full:

Blacks and the Democratic Party

Clinton got the majority of the black vote, too. That suggests that Blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat regardless of skin color.

Didn't Clinton get 91% of the black vote? Pretty much all you seem to have to do to get most of that voting block is be a Democrat.

On the other hand, White males have not supported a Democrat since the Clinton years, but now they're called racist for criticizing Obama.

Ah ya beat me to it.

Yeah but remember, Clinton was "the first black president". Of course blacks supporting Obama is racist. If there was two candidates, one black one white and over 97% of whites voted for the white guy it would be racist too. Get real!

Eight days a week baby... Eight days a week.

I am a white male and I voted for Obama. Did I miss the memo?

I like to criticize him because he is a politician and he screws things up.

No, I don't think it's racism. I think it's pride. If we can't understand that Black America is overjoyed with seeing a black man as President of the United States, I'd say we're just not trying hard enough.

Republicans should have thought of it. God's sake! I'd have voted for Colin Powell in a heartbeat.

Interesting factoid: "As of 2013, there had been 1,948 members of the United States Senate, but only nine were African American."

Telling, isn't it?

If people voted against Romney because he was white, then yes; if people voted for Obama because he was black, no.

I should have said a "Majority of white males."

Also, if you're looking to get laid anytime soon, I don't think I would tell any prospective candidates that.

Ok, I have to laugh at some of the responses. "Oh, nooooo, it's an ideological thing not a race thing", but be in ideological opposition to Obama and, "**** yeah, that's racist." I swear, if it weren't for double standards, some of you would have no standards at all.

White male victim card?

94% of blacks supported the man who pushed through the 1964 Civil Rights act. I think it is a racially ideological thing.

I didn't even know Obama was president then.

So you're one of those lesser of two evil guys, eh? Ever consider not voting for evil?

Tried that and Obama won the first election. At least this way I got to see DADT bite the dust and DOMA put on the ropes.

It only matters what you do, Critical. If you support evil, all you will ever get is evil. If your choice is douchebag v. douchebag it's better to just not vote at all than to vote for douchebag one or douchebag two.

Why pretend you had some hesitation in voting for Obama? Do you think all your posts just disappear after awhile? Of course you'll vote for the Dem.
