Irish woman with green card faces US deportation over $25 bad cheque

Of course it’s still on the books. She committed check fraud and was sentenced to restitution and probation.
Well, like I said..........
please continue to target the wives of military veterans who voted for Trump. The old saying "be careful what you wish for" might apply.

Yes she did. From the article:

“He said she had been detained on a misdemeanour relating to a $25 cheque she signed a decade ago and for which she made restitution and received probation.”
Why are you right-wingers concerned about shit that is more than a decade old?

I admit, I was unaware of that; however, this is not sufficient cause to remove the woman from the country.

This is the ICE gestapo being a bunch of dicks.

Until you know the specifics of the case, you are not in a postion to say what she did.

For all you know, it was not done on purpose and she got the book throw at her anyway.

Then you agree that in committing a crime she violated the terms of her green card and should be deported under the law.
Only a blackhearted moron would agree that the woman should be deported.

How rich is the irony when you consider the Chief Executive of the United States who is directing all of this is a 34-time felon? Life in Land of the Free (or something).

🤣🤣🤣

But, but...I thought they came for the brown people!!! I mean, "First they came for the brown people" - it was supposed to stop there, right?! What the hell?! Just what the hell kinda country am I livin in where votin has consequences?!

We need like a running MAGA voter schadenfreude thread or something lol.

Thank God she's off the street!

People like her committing crimes like that make me afraid to leave the house!

Now imagine if she were black and how frightening THAT would be ;)

So the argument is she should be above the law because why?
Read the article and reflect on her record, that she made restitution for that crine and has apparently lived an exemplary life in the US. She apparently paid 25 dollars in restitution for her offense. Trump had to pay 25 million dollars for just one of his frauds.

It's good to see such dangerous criminals being taken off the streets./s

If she was a billionaire she could stay.

Meh. "Faces" deportation.

Would be very surprised if she is actually deported. Hope not.

It is a little weird that she would live here for 50 years and never bother to get citizenship.
