Why this story matters
A fundraising campaign linked to assassination threats against President Donald Trump underscores the potential for conflict between Iran and the United States.
International threats
Reports of Iranian clerics and websites calling for violence against Donald Trump illustrate the persistence of security concerns and threats to leaders.
Political and religious rhetoric
Statements and decrees from Iranian religious leaders, as well as their subsequent denial or downplaying by Iranian officials, highlight the complex interplay between religious authority, politics and international messaging.
Afatwa, or religious decree, issued by senior Iranian clerics calling for the assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump has attracted online funding worth tens of millions of dollars, reports say.
What People Are Saying
The Iranian website thaar.ir said: "The above sum ($40,286, 867) will be received by the people who have committed themselves to any freedman who will carry out the sentence of justice."
Mohammad-Javad Larijani, a former senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader, per Iran International: "Trump has done something so that he can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago. … A small drone might hit him in the navel."
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday: "I guess it's a threat. I'm not sure it's a threat actually, but perhaps it is."
I would not put too much into a story based on an Iranian web site.View attachment 67579155

Just ask each Iranian to fork over a buck ............... or else! Not surprising as the U.S. is considered the Great Satan. However, it would be interesting to see who or what is donating to the fund.
Depending on whether JD takes over as President, we could see Iran nuked.Somehow I don't think any monetary reward is suffient motivation, except for someone who is a big enough fool that there's no real chance they succeed. Would-be assassins generally assume they're not going to both survive and live freely. And if they did that, winning a ton of money, the third problem would be spending it without outing themselves.
As much of a purely evil scum of the Earth bastard Trump is, he's still the US President, and there's no way the US is sitting on its hands if some foreign country pays someone to get him. They'd be the world's greatest fugitive if they escaped the scene. Not much of a way to live life.
I didn’t know the DNC had $40 million.View attachment 67579155

Not surprising as the U.S. is considered the Great Satan........
The US has constantly had assassination funds against Iranian and other countries leaders. The current leader of Venezuela has a 25 million bounty on his head.. well "arrest". If I am not mistaken, the reward for Soleimani was in the 50 million range. It is the bigliest assassination fund in history. People are talking about it.
Maybe the Iranians aren't serious people.Any serious effort to assassinate Trump, presupposes that an equally serious effort was made to ascertain whether life would be better under Pres. Vance, which clearly an oxymoron, because nobody's life would actually be better under Pres. Vance and serious people can figure that out..
