Any knee jerk response that assumes we create the mindsets of other people are childish and ignorant by very nature.
What sort of attitude would you recommend about enemies sworn to kill you? Why do we need to win a PC war? Would it be better for America to be feared rather than loved?
What changes for all others.....if we are out of the picture?
Nothing changes and that's the point. Whether we are there or not, nothing changes except for the fact that we put OUR people in harms way that doesn't accomplish anything.
Tell me, did Disposing of Saddam stop all violence there? Nope, people still die there due to violence everyday. Same in Afghanistan, Lybia, Syria, etc.
The reality is, we are not nation builders....well at least good ones.
The war should have stopped after Shock and Awe and the capture and trial of Saddam. Then repeat as necessary until they get it right. The trick is always, as Barney Fife once said to "Nip it, Andy! Nip it in the bud"! That would have applied to Iran as well.
The US has a stockpile of some excellent weapons for a reason, and they should be used.
AFter we toppled Saddam that was when Al-Qaeda moved in and fast. So your "shock and awe" solution was nothing more than creating a vacuum for even worse people to come in. Glad you weren't in military planning.

You've completely lost scale and ventured into nonsense.
We then suit up and get your ass to Iraq if you agree with it so much and stay there until the job is done.
A typical meaningless reply of those without any sense of an argument.
A typical response from someone not man enough to do what he asks others to do in his place.
The military is voluntary.
Your reply is as stupid as telling someone "join the police force and work in Detroit" if they complain about crime. It's absolute BS and shows that your argument is empty crap.
And it your comment shows a chicken hawk attitude. You like wars but only if YOU don't have to fight them.

No one said removing Saddam would stop all violence there; violence is ingrained in their culture. But what it did was stop a man who during his reign had possibly 200,000 Iraqis brutally murdered by his Iraqi Gulag.
It is estimated that he was responsible for around 900,000 Iraqi deaths during his reign. Did he need to go? Yes, absolutely.
And there have been massive changes. They aren't hard to see. Saying nothing changes is incorrect at best and ignorant at worst.
And how many civilians died in the war and subsequent occupation/terrorism? Hundreds of thousands. Like I said, more of the same, the only difference is instead of one guy to go after, you now have thousdands. Yeah, that's much better.

As we know it was Muslims murdering Muslims which contributed to the high death toll in Iraq and that continues. The 'root cause' of modern terrorism is Islamism, not Americans or any of the other democracies..
It is better. You no longer having a dictator committing mass genocide. How is getting rid of that dictator a bad thing?
No it isn't because you had THOUSANDS of terrorists commiting mass genocide. So instead of having ONE person you had thousands. Violence is STILL going on today because of it.
Disposing Saddaam allowed far more terrorists into the country killing civilians so yes that is a DIRECT result of the U.S. getting rid of Saddam. The hypocrisy is that there are DOZENS of countries with dictators you and other Cons don't give two shakes of a piss about. Yet because Iraq is in the ME you want to plant our flag there.
