Giood article. Ukraine's usage of drones has revolutionized modern warfare on land, up in the skies, and naval drones operating in the water.

Well Russia is doing it also you know, it's not just Ukraine.

But it is correct that this war will be historically known as the war that changed modern battlefield tactics just like introducing the tank did in WW1 and the airplane and the machine gun.

I believe two nations now have full drone aircraft carriers already built. Once AI makes a couple more leaps it's really going to change things up. I just saw that Japan held a marathon for robots who were running alongside humans so how much longer until some nations throws an assault rifle in their hands and tells them to go shoot something?

A new day is dawning.

I think we've seen an end to aerial attacks by squadrons of aircraft.

A future squadron in a ground attack role will probably have 6-8 actual manned aircraft (or a/c capable of being manned) and 40-60 UAVs.

The F-47 is reportedly going to have the ability to control drones.

However manned aircraft will still be needed especially in areas like the South China Sea where the distances are too far for drones.

No distance is "too far" for drones/UAVs

I worked with UAV's in the military - you could have "drones" operating over the Ukraine and being piloted from California.

True, thank you for the correction.
