Inside China's high-stakes campaign to smear the United States over coronavirus

The propaganda is working. According to my wife, some of her friends back in China think the Coronavirus originated in the US.

You corrected the Chinese who are participating in this fraud of course. Then again maybe not eh.

After all if the Chinese invented everything as they claim then surely they invented this virus. Either way however it's what they did do. Bruises their ego traumatically to know it.

Nor is it anything new as the Chinese blame everything on the USA as I recall from the Sichuan earthquake in 2008 and always in virtually all things negative in and from China.

They're just getting on the Trumpian bandwagon. Don't like what you see? Make up something you like better. Then all you have to do is tell everyone that what they see is fake and what you say is true. Works for Trump.
Yep again if it is something that is good happening then it had to be because of what Trump and the right did but if it is something bad IT isn't the Presidents fault it has to be the lefts fault
just like when Obama was in office if something good happened Obama had nothing to do with it but if something bad happened it was all Obama;s fault
These people on the right want it both ways well it doesn't work that way
If Trump and the right are going to claim that when something good happens it is all because of Trump then when something bad happens then he has to take the blame too, they did it to Obama so they have to do it to Trump too
Have a nice day

Ha! They have learned from the democrats to accuse the other of the things they are doing.

All you clowns do is blame others for your own incompetence. For instance...your post here.

No, it was meant for partisan hacks. We have plenty of those, so thanks for providing.

That's to be expected in a country with no free press. Trump has to put up with "the enemy of the people".

Both presses have the same level of bias, just for different reasons.

Indeed the detente is over that had existed between the United States and China since the Nixon-Kissinger visit to Beijing in 1972 that led to Carter establishing diplomatic relations between Washington and Beijing in 1979.

While Reagan never liked it he tolerated it reluctantly and got dragged into his own visit to China during his terms in the WH. CCP-PRC enthusiasts in the WH include GHW, Clinton, GW, and less so Obama. Now Trump has turned the relationship upside down while relying on his China hawk adviser in the WH Peter Navarro of Harvard and UC Davis.

‘Wuhan coronavirus’: Pompeo mocks Beijing claim that coronavirus outbreak may not have originated in China

Chinese Communist Party officials have begun to cast doubt on the origins of the coronavirus outbreak, which generated backlash from Washington.

“This is the Wuhan coronavirus,” Pompeo said during a televised interview on Friday. “It has proven incredibly frustrating to work with the Chinese Communist Party to get our hands around the data set, which will ultimately be the solution to both getting the vaccine and attacking this risk.”

That rebuke continues a diplomatic dispute that has percolated ever since the contagion came into the public eye as Chinese officials have tried to avoid any geopolitical backlash. Beijing’s envoys are raising questions about whether the outbreak actually began in Wuhan, a major city in China’s Hubei province.

Pompeo dismissed such complaints Friday. “No less authority than the Chinese Communist Party said it came from Wuhan,” he said in a separate televised interview.

China alerted the World Health Organization to the emergence of the virus in early January, with local health officials tying the outbreak to a seafood market in the city. Wuhan’s mayor soon apologized for failing to share information about the outbreak quickly, but senior Chinese officials pivoted to touting the rapid quarantine of roughly 50 million people as a testament to the strength of their political system.

‘Wuhan coronavirus’: Pompeo mocks Beijing claim that coronavirus outbreak may not have originated in China

Trump who hasn't ever liked China has gone easy on Xi Jinpingpong since the coronavirus erupted in Wuhan amidst the intermingling of humans, wild bats, snakes, pigeons, live chicken droppings and the like at an outdoor wet market that is typical throughout China historically to the present. Trump has most recently gone largely silent on Xi, China, Wuhan and the virus while Pompeo has become strident against CCP psychological warfare propaganda against the United States on the virus.

So it has become safe to say that regardless of who is in the WH starting next year the good times of rocking and rolling are over for China and its bamboozling the US elites of political economy. Indeed the chirping Americans who have bought completely into the China myth of the CCP are presently and finally being knocked off their perch.

Yea, it makes sense to blame the media for reporting things that happen or are happening. They should suppress news and collaborate with the POTUS to ensure the message is twisted to fit the narrative that the government wants spun.

Operation Mockingbird and other efforts achieved that goal, many years ago. The media is for the most part nothing but a propaganda organ for the government and Deep State.

As Casey noted in 1981, when everything the American people believe is false, we will know the success of our misinformation efforts.

Wow, Pompeo can demonstrate some more of that "lying, cheating and stealing" he bragged about last year. And again the unsophisticated and gullible masses will admire The Emperor's New Clothes".

Wow, is anyone surprised that the Chinese have been lying their asses off, then blaming the US of this problem. Sounds just like another group of people I know. Maybe we should have some hearings to look into collusion between these entities; and then during an election year to boot.

they are just pissed off because the prez is calling the virus a "foreign virus" and repubs are calling the virus the "wuhan virus".

I don't think ticking off China is good policy, they have a monopoly on rare earth metals.

Now that is a substantive and intellectual response if I have ever read one!

When the **** are you going to stop taking up for China? They are the enemy, you understand that? They lied about this virus, they've spread propaganda about this virus. Bad policy is not telling the truth, and the truth is China started this **** in Wuhan. Be an American for once. Jesus Christ Almighty, this is nothing by Orange Man Bad for you isn't it? The answer is YES.

No China does not have a monopoly on rare earth metals.

CCP Dictator Tyrants in Beijing do use their REM exports as punishments and rewards. Congress and Pentagon are funding REM mines in USA that have gone undeveloped due to reliance on China REM. The USA reliance on CCP REM is being reduced significantly and this is true of Japan too that has suffered punitive cutoffs by Beijing.

Further, USDs into China keeps the RMB stable yet Trump's trade war has forced many manufacturers out of China to other countries, such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines among others. These bailed industries brought USD into China the Party-Government takes and now a bunch of 'em are gone while yet others continue to follow. Fewer USD into China means increased RMB inflation which is occurring now with the RMB pushing 7 to the dollar which also means Chinese have to pay more in rmb on trade deals. By the Phase One trade agreement China needs to buy $200bn in agricultural products from USA along with other goods that means quantitative increases in rmb = greater inflation....and so on.

Neither can Beijing get Russia, Brazil among others to agree on a common currency for their dismal SWIFT substitute bank transacting scheme that remains flaccid and going nowhere, same as the One Belt One Road flop no one in Asia wants that would be run by Chinese only and for China only. Xi btw might be a bigger blowhard than Trump is as each of 'em has his own grandiose schemes that go nowhere.

Yeah, so is Chossudovsky .:lamo

Yes, he has a much better record for truth-telling (most unpopular in certain circles) than anybody in the mainstream media/government complex.
