Obese Texas inmate hides gun in his flabs of fat

HOUSTON - An obese inmate in Texas has been charged after officials learned he had a gun hidden under flabs of his own flesh.

Twenty-five-year-old George Vera was charged with possession of a firearm in a correctional facility after he told a guard at the Harris County Jail about the unloaded 9mm pistol.

The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday that Vera was originally arrested on charges of selling illegal copies of compact discs.

The 500-pound man was searched during his arrest and again at a city jail and the county jail, but officers never found the weapon in his rolls of skin.

Vera admitted having the gun during a shower break at the county jail.

Talk about packing heat!

Indeed.

This is two-fold incompetence. The police failed to search the man properly and then the jail (where a strip search is conducted) failed to detect a firearm.

Very odd.

Whoever strip-searched the 500-pound man wasn't very thorough. A poor job on their part, but understandable.

Let's cut the wise cracks.

They don't put new inmates through a metal detector? Hell, some high schools would have found that gun

We have a saying over here "having a whale of a time" do you think that is to do with bus travel, or just Japanese propaganda?

The legacy of atomic radiation lives on.

Somehow, I don't think the charges are going to stick. Despite what the guy said, they never found the gun, so there is no case. Otherwise, inmates could be charged with the weirdest things. Any inmate who claims to have sex with Rosie Palm and her five sisters could be charged with kidnapping and sex slavery.

In Toronto every morning on the radio station I listen to there is an advertisement for men asking whether they are embarassed for having big breasts and advertising a doctor now reduces their size and its a quick operation.

I think large breasts on men is very serious. I told my wife to shoot me when this happens. I checked the other day because I am 53 and they appear to be a bit looser then 5 years ago. I try do weights but I suspect they are beginning to sag. If this happens I have decided to suck everything out of my body at once I will just have the doctor stick a vacum cleaner up my ass and just suck up everything so I can look like Madonna.

I saw the picture of the inmate. He had large folds of fat. He reminded me of Oprah.
