Another botched execution. 2 hours to die. That is cruel and unusual. The death penalty needs to go faster.
Yes let's talk about Joseph wood, from a quote:
Now care to tell me how his victim felt during their time of death? Do you think Wood felt a FRACTION of what they felt? I think not.
It's amazing the humanity given to criminals, but no thought of what their victims felt.
There is a reason this person was on death row, and sorry but no, I don't feel for him one bit.
I wonder what the 8th Amendment has to say about it? Is human experimentation on someone fails, then lead to slowly killing someone isnt cruel and unusual?
It wasn't human experimentation on someone, it was an execution. Nice try at redefining terms.I wonder what the 8th Amendment has to say about it? Is human experimentation on someone fails, then lead to slowly killing someone isnt cruel and unusual?
Again, I straight up admit I'm flawed. I feel NOTHING for death row inmates that commit horrific and violent murders. Are you saying you are perfect?
New combination of drugs being used for the very first time.It wasn't human experimentation on someone, it was an execution. Nice try at redefining terms.
How many hours has the families and friends of his victims suffered? If liberals weren't such ******s about the DP, they would of [sic] had proper drugs. Of course, rope and a gallows is a lot cheaper and wouldn't have taken so long.

Were those drugs tested before they were used?New combination of drugs being used for the very first time.
And why did they need the new drugs? Why did we need new methods in the first place? The old methods were tried and true and cheaper. But somehow the weak in the knees thought a few seconds of possible suffering was just too much for condemned murderers.

How about we get rid of the penalty all together for several reasons
1.)Possibility of innocence
2.)It causes pain, and suffering which is cruel and unusual.
When it slowly kills someone for 2 hours and leaves them conscious gasping for air and snorting.Well, it isn't an unusual form of punishment so that really only leaves the question of whether it was cruel or not. The way I see it they knocked the sucker out and juiced him.
He was apparently conscious. From the first link: ""he was apparently left conscious long after the drugs were administered."If he was unconscious the whole time I really don't figure it was cruel either so there you have it!
From the article…
Gov. Jan Brewer issued this statement: “I am concerned by the length of time it took for the administered drug protocol to complete the lawful execution of the convicted double murderer, Joseph Wood. While justice was carried out today, I directed the Department of Corrections to conduct a full review of the process.
“One thing is certain, however, inmate Wood died in a lawful manner and by eyewitness and medical accounts he did not suffer. This is in stark comparison to the gruesome, vicious suffering that he inflicted on his two victims – and the lifetime of suffering he has caused their family.”
Wood, 55, was convicted of first-degree murder February 25, 1991, and sentenced to death July 2, 1991.
Wood was involved in an unstable five-year relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Debbie Dietz, during the time of the crime. On August 7, 1989, Wood walked into the local body shop owned by her family and shot Debbie’s 55-year-old father, Gene Dietz, in the chest with a .38 caliber revolver, according to a statement from the AG.
Wood later located Debbie, and shot her once in the abdomen and once in the chest, killing her as well, the document stated.
How about we just stop making victims out of murderers. Wouldn't that be a whole lot easier? How about we get rid of the penalty all together for several reasons

So all suffering is cruel? I guess you want to ban prisons too? Do let me know when the victim garners the same sympathy from you (I won't hold my breath).
