Indiana sheriff’s deputy killed in dog attack that left her son, 8, wounded

“There’s nothing dangerous about pibbie, they’re big goofballs, they just want to play”

Look at how they lick that cat to death.

Another pibbie just suffocating a cat in kisses

No such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners.
This conventional wisdom is not entirely accurate.

Many dogs have been bred for generations for power and aggressive behavior in order to fight and protect. It’s bred into them. They do not make good pets.

And some dogs are just jerks, or become nasty when they get older and possibly in pain.

My GF'S doggo was treated like a member of the family for 15 years, then one day up and bit her. She was cleaning her ears, something she'd done 10,000 times and the dog mauled her arm.

That doesn't make them bad dogs. It makes them bad pets.

Because there is an issue with that breed and people need to understand that.

There is an issue with how certain people breed and train the dogs. Not with the breed itself.

We’re punishing an animal for what humans have made of it.

Had the breed been left alone that gene would have remained recessed and the aggressive tendencies of the animal far more dormant.

Well...the issue is with the breed. There are two reasons:
1. Their temperament is a bit off.
2. If they flip their biology has enabled them to do serious to lethal damage. Chihuahuas seem worse in temperament but they can't do shit for damage.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A sheriff’s deputy died after being attacked in her Indianapolis home by a dog that also bit and wounded her 8-year-old son, authorities said Wednesday.

Tamieka White, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday night shortly after Indianapolis police officers responded to her home on the city’s east side, officials said. She had been a deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office since 2007.

Her young son was also bitten in the dog attack, which was reported about 7:45 p.m., officials said. He is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, The Indianapolis Star reported.

Indianapolis police said the attacking dog charged at a responding officer, who fatally shot the animal.

And it was someone else's dog. The lawyers are probably lined up at their door.
Pit Bull. No surprise there.

We are punishing the animal that just violently killed a woman?

Th4 breed, not this specific animal.

Humans deliberately altered this dog breed through selective breeding and then blame the breed for becoming what we made them.

So when fighters go in and fight in the UFC, training to do nothing but hurt people to the point of killing them should they want... we should blame the coaches for what they made them into, should they fight a person in a bar or attack their wife?

Would you blame a tiger that attacked a person but not blame a pit bull for attacking a person?

Apparently you know squat about the breed.

Stories featuring the Vicktory dogs rescued from Michael Vick's fighting ring

And I've spent a good part of the last ten years working with these cast off terriers (called it pitbull rehab) at the local shelter Never once bitten or even snarled at. Got a Staffordshire that was tossed out of a car last year, sweetest and most well-behaved companion one could meet. Maybe you're just scared of dogs that might challenge you physically?
He does have an extreme aversion to anyone that challenges him.

The only breed i wish people would stop breeding are pugs and thats mostly because the breed tends to have a lot of complications in life specifically because humans made them that way.

Pit bulls i can get along with if they are trained right though i tend to like bull terriers more.

No such thing as a bad kid... only bad parents.

Ridiculous logic.
Maybe part of your issue is that you think dogs and kids are similar?

LOL. Of course they are. You have a kid and never train it?

Look, if you are gonna be dishonest just save yourself the embarrassment and give up.

You've crossed the line between absurdity and stupidity.

But I could definitely see you rubbing your kids nose in their shit if they have an accident. What does your image have to do with anything?

I don't remember this obtuseness about you from before.

I could see you eating the shit if your kid had an accident.

Yeah...doesn't matter that over 70% fatal dog attacks on humans are from pit bulls. Nothing to see here folks!
You don't understand that, in this age of non-discrimination, come Hell or high water, any judgement of a dog breed is Racial Discrimination! /sarc/

You might as well be saying that young Black men commit violent crime more often that old Asian women! Yee God man! Off to the re-education camp with you!

In part , if -evoke due as a result, but they aren’t breeding the fighters from inception for specific traits. Which, of course, is an entirely different thing than just training. However you know that already, so why use it as the basis of a counter argument?

There seem to be a lot of those. Certainly not all. My observation has been that about half of pit owners are nice normal people trying to raise nice normal dogs. The other half own pits because it is a felony for them to possess firearms. Of course, those are the ones trying to breed them like rabbits.

Some pits are very nice dogs, and I don't advocate destroying them all. I do advocate FIXING them all, to eliminate the problem over the next 10 years. In the mean time, felony probation offices could quite reasonably prohibit probationers from owning dogs over a certain weight, as well as any pits.
