Indiana clears Planned Parenthood of wrongdoing after videos

Indiana on Thursday cleared Planned Parenthood facilities that perform abortions in the state of any wrongdoing in the handling of fetal tissue. Gov. Mike Pence, a Republican, on July 16 ordered an investigation of Planned Parenthood facilities in Indianapolis, Bloomington and Merrillville to see if organs from aborted fetuses were being sold. He was among a number of conservative lawmakers around the country who have called for investigations after an anti-abortion group circulated a video it made secretly showing some of its national officials discussing how they obtain organs from aborted fetuses for research. Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest provider of abortions, has said its donations of fetal tissue for research are legal. The Indiana Department of Health said in a statement Thursday that an investigation found no evidence of any laws being broken. Health department inspectors investigated the Indiana facilities on July 21.

Unfortunately for PP, this doesn't mean much as there are numerous investigations going on in numerous States.

Like Texas for example.

Of course they did. Everyone but the rabid wingnuts knows that this is a fake scandal.

This is one of them cases were they will throw everything at the wall until something sticks.
It does matter how much time and money is being spent...
Not when politicians can use their actions shore up votes for their re-election.

I am shocked.

'....U.S. District Judge William Orrick late Friday issued a temporary restraining order blocking the defendants from releasing videos and audio recordings containing NAF member names and addresses, and dates and locations of future meetings, pending a hearing on Monday.

Orrick said the NAF would likely prevail on the merits of its lawsuit, and said it could face "harassment, intimidation, violence, invasion of privacy, and injury to reputation" absent a halt.

The NAF is also seeking compensatory and punitive damages..."

PP can probably make a lot more money from suing anti-abortionists than they ever could donating fetuses.

How is butchering bodies and selling them for profit in any way legal?

Since Obamacare passed shouldnt funding PP be redundant? Isnt the argument from democratic radicals always "you dont want women to have affordable health care blah blah blah". Well if Obamacare is so awesome, then we shouldnt need PP COR-****ING-RECT??????

I say get rid of it. If they want to butcher humans for profit, they can do it on their own dime.

Lol !!

According to the story, the Indiana's PP locations do not nor have they ever participated in the " donations " of fetal organs.

Nice try though.

From what I've read, neither does the one in Texas. If true, would that have any impact on your opinion of Texas's investigation into Planned Parenthood?

Can't you read! They were cleared.

Indiana PP NEVER participated in the sale and distribution of fetal organs.

The Governor just sent his people in to make sure they weren't involved in the scandal

The article I saw says that the Texas chapter doesn't participate in the fetal donation program, your articles says they did, I don't know. Either way, per your own article:

Two Democrats — House Judiciary Committee ranking member John Conyers Jr. and Rep. Steve Cohen — released a statement saying that the video “does not demonstrate that Planned Parenthood is ‘selling’ fetal tissue.”

“In fact, many portions of the full video — edited out of the nine-minute version that House Republicans have circulated — directly contradict the allegation that Planned Parenthood has violated federal law,” the joint statement said.

Based on her experience, Ms. Johnson says she saw nothing in the video to indicate that Planned Parenthood is breaking the law. At the same time, she said the video exposes a loophole that gives clinics and processing companies enormous latitude in setting reimbursement charges for fetal hearts, lungs and other organs.

So even the person with an axe to grind doesn't believe they broke the law.

Tell wsuwarrior that. He seems to be operating under the belief that the Indiana chapter is participating in the fetal donation program.

This is the second article I've found that claims there is no fetal donation program in Texas. Interesting. Was Ms. Johnson lying or was the program ended after her employment at PP?

Planned Parenthood health centers in Texas do not currently donate tissue for medical research, according to the organization. Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in Houston has participated in fetal tissue donation, partnering with the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2010 for a study on causes of miscarriages.

Haven't you heard? They aren't making a profit on the butchered humans. So that makes it a-okay in their sick, twisted minds.

As specified in the article (and repeated by your own Fenton), the Indiana chapter isn't participating in the fetal tissue donation program.

That's good, but they are still a part of the organization that is. Are they somehow a separate organization?

"My own Fenton"? The hive mentality just can't grasp the concept of individuality. Lol.

Different chapters participate in the fetal tissue donation program, some don't. I'm not sure why that is, but there you go. It sounds like you're just too squeamish for the topic of medical research.
