Yes, smoking in the theater is bad.

And that smoker will likely die as a result of the behavior.

They're also exposing others to the health risk of second-hand smoke.

And creating a minor risk of fire hazard.

But does this justify yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater?

What might be the motivations attending such extreme conduct so damaging to social well-being?

Would you please restate you last sentence? Before you do, note that your hero, trump is so freaking out over the Covid-19 situation he's doing is usual lying and misleading of his country and the world.

I have no idea whom you have me confused with.

And as far as I know, Trump's been right in saying the situation is not one to panic over.

Probably a reformed smoker. They're assholes.

Nice strawman. No =, no , an improvement for sure.

You have become the little girl in your avatar... we are seeing multiple segments of our economy and the world economy impacted by real aggregate demand fault, that is not "inciting coronavirus panic" but reporting the realized effects of what we are seeing across the globe.

Examples:

"having a hunch" that the death rate is lower than stated by the WHO.

Claiming that "anyone that needs a test can get one".

"the virus is contained".

trump worshipers pay attention only to things that work in the favor of our dear leader.

I'm not the least bit confused as to who you are. You do nothing but support trump and bash his political enemies.

You're fooling no one.

So what the **** are you saying?

I have the ability to refrain from smoking and people who smoke. It's a choice.

Yelling fire in a crowded theater when there is no fire is purposely providing false information with intent to harm.

Make your point and give us credible supportive links.

Thanks for the compliment. :) Panic - and the incitement thereof - is never a good thing, no.

Wha'?

The virus is peaking and falling.

The topic is the motivation to incite panic.

It's illegal to yell 'fire' in a crowded theater when there is no fire. But yelling "fire" in a theater that is burning will save lives. Seems elemental to me.

Re-read the OP - it's quite clear.

The rest of your comments...

Well, reading is fundamental. :)

Not burning - someone's smoking.

Minimal risk.

Wha'?

The topic is the motivation to incite panic.

Ok, then I disagree with the premise of your claim. There is no incentive to incite panic. There is a root cause of the panic, however and that is that there is no trust in our presidential leadership to professionally address a pandemic.

My point regarding your motivation to create a bait thread like this is clear - it's to bash your political enemies and to prop up trump. That's a relevant point when addressing your false premise, whether you care to admit it or not.

Provide credible and relevant links otherwise two issues remain:

1. You aren't making sense.

2. You're pulling your "logic" out of your ass.

Deaths in Italy has jumped to 366 since last Wednesday and 130 in the past 24 hours. Don't you think that 'panic' as you call it, is better than complacency as you seem to be suffering from? When people are made to be afraid, people start being more cautious. Being more cautious cuts down on the number of possible infections. Maybe now people will stay out of Walmart for a few days if they can help themselves. Maybe they'll stop going to casinos or concerts or movies. Maybe they'll really start washing their damned hands or wear a ****ing mask. Yes. Panic is GOOD.

Fine. False. Nonsense.

I'm not the topic. You seem confused - maybe re-read the OP? :)

It's a legitimate comparison between 'panic' and 'caution'.

All I can suggest is that you re-read the OP; you appear confused.

You're the one who created the bait thread with the false premise - that makes you fair game for being the topic.

You're just going to have to learn to reap what you sow, my dishonest trump fan of a friend.

Numbers already dropping in Italy; panic is never positive/justified.

It's a legitimate comparison between 'panic' and 'caution'.

I visited an UrgentCare center Saturday. Chest infection. Everyone with respiratory issues was made to wait outside until called. (Took about 10 minutes. I had an appt.) We were given a mask inside, and everything else was handled normally. Caution, obviously.

There is no panic. Except Trump. He can't shut up about it.

I haven't seen anyone yell "Fire"!.

I have seen the President and his Administration get on stage and tell people there is no fire as everyone is choking on smoke. That's probably a little disconcerting to folks.
