There is no right to marry. Can you show the right to marry in the constitution
Changing laws and using federal courts to interfere in states legislation. The feds are abusing their power
There is no right to marry. Can you show the right to marry in the constitution
Chief Justice Earl Warren's opinion for the unanimous court held that:
“ Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival.... To deny this fundamental freedom on so unsupportable a basis as the racial classifications embodied in these statutes, classifications so directly subversive of the principle of equality at the heart of the Fourteenth Amendment, is surely to deprive all the State's citizens of liberty without due process of law. The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the freedom of choice to marry not be restricted by invidious racial discrimination. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.
I would think that it'd remain relatively constant over time.

There is no reason to give such a small percentage power or special rights
Who had post 18 in the pedophile comparison raffle? Seriously, can you guys ever discuss gays without the pedophile comparison?
You would think so but I am totally unsure about this. However if it isn't constant, what are some of the factors that would change the frequency of homosexual beings?
A year's free membership at DP. Yay!!!I did! What do I win?
In your estimation, what percentage of the population is gay?
I say "...in your estimation" because, as someone else said in another thread, not all gay people are willing to admit it (for reasons of their own), so the best stats we have are most likely incomplete.
Note also, bi-sexual, bi-curious, etc., are not included in the question. Straight (pun only slightly intended :mrgreengay only.
Article eleventy two.
So straights shouldn't have the right to marry either?
What state legislation? Seems the various states' homosexual marriage prohibitions were the result of popular democracy, voter initiatives, ballot measures, and contrary to the Constitution's Article IV Section 4.
Article 6.4-b7 in the third sentence right after the second comma.
You mean the same rights as straight people?
I'd say 6-10% seems like the most accurate number.
There is no reason to give such a small percentage power or special rights
In every state that had a constitutional amendment on it gay marriage was voted down. That happened twice here in florida
Divorce? We are not asking for special rights, we only want what millions of straight couples take for granted every day.
Divorce?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
We are not asking for special rights, we only want what millions of straight couples take for granted every day.
You mean where the ignorant masses show up and declare that a minority needn't bother expect equal treatment?
Democracy in its finest, most barbaric fashion.
No they stand up for their religion and against immorality
