In Memory of Our Faithful Friend, Overitall

Thank you for the reminder. I know this but sometimes it all, the feeling of the loss, gets the best of me.
I understand, Trix...I remind myself of this every day...the longer I live, the more loved ones I lose...God's Word keeps reminding me that death is not the end...

“The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” John 11:25

When. I'm in it to win it, Daisy.

amen Nota

Paul described his life as a fight, the good fight.

on this forum, even those who oppose us should be loved and hope to see them come to faith. that is my bottom line for all of you here, to know God and walk with God all the way till we meet again on the Other Side.

the Other Side is eternal, there is no death, no grief, no misunderstandings; our Love will be complete for God and others.........all the time. we call that heaven.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" 2 Timothy 4:7

amen Daisy,

Death is NOT the end...............it is just the Beginning.

a beginning that is so great, that God has said that eye has not seen or ears have heard what the Lord has prepared for those who love him.

that is a Great promise, it will get you thru the good times and the bad.

promise.

Something that Overitall and I discussed, because this verse from Timothy has become a daily prayer/reminder, is how Paul says "finished," not "won." It's all about perseverance to the end. And he did. With courage and without complaint, only with steadfast faith.

hmmm, i will have to think about the subtle difference between successfully finishing our great race and winning it.

i feel that Saint Paul had done both, an amazing person historically. he basically left his Leadership position in the religious/government system of Israel and became an out cast/poverty for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

his very fine Epistle to the Philippians was written in a roman dungeon, (a pit in the ground). his advice has never been topped to this day, his Joy was internal and not subject to the many problems he had with the missionary path he had chosen. most of our New Testament bible was written by Saint Paul; someone good to converse with when walking the Streets of Gold.

he probably has lots of things to say, not recorded in his letters to the churches.

I believe.
It's a reminder to all of us that we don't pass away, we pass on. :)

In memory of our beloved friend, Overitall, during this Christmas season. He used to say to me and others when we would leave a P/M/a conversation, and instead of saying, goodnight, he would say, "See you on the flip side". This ornament made me think of Overitall today.

I miss him so much. I know you do too. He was like a caring brother to me. I know what having a great brother is like too because I have one.

Until we meet again, my bestie. 🫶

❤️ Overitall I miss him so much. ❤️ This Overitall Memory.

And Overitall's family is facing their first Christmas without him. The "firsts" are always so hard, especially for those who have just lost a child.

For all the DP members who have and also for strangers who read here or happen along and who are struggling as everybody else is seemingly filled with joy, YOU are not forgotten.
