Impeachment a winner for Democrats? Don’t bet on it

Nice rant.

You're forgetting voters are goldfish. It might last months?

The Republican party has basically undercut any chances it might have of winning over the future of this country. Young people are turning away from extremist capitalism and Religion in droves. The baby boomers are basically the only base the Right has left. If we can blow them out of office in 2020 it's going to be very hard for them to come back. Keep in mind even after two Obama terms they still couldn't win the Majority of votes in 2016. Those demographic numbers aren't getting better any time soon.

The entire affair is a farce. Democrats have been claiming they would impeach since the day after the election.

That's because there was already evidence he'd consorted with Russia to win the election that early. President Obama already knew Russia was doing everything they could to get Trump elected he just couldn't do anything about it without it looking like he was doing something shady himself.

You need to look a little deeper, there are many movements on both sides. Lots of young people are moving toward religion and toward capitalism. The future of the US will be in ruins if we go too far left and we are headed left. 52Billion to pay for healthcare for all is not doable if you want to keep from putting the country in bankruptcy. Young americans are starting to wake up and see that earning you way is the better way.

The only evidence is that Hillary and Democrats colluded with Ukraine and a former British spy. Get your facts from somebody other than Schiff.

I hope you're right about the trend against Republicans (and corporatist Democrats).

I was referring to the backlash about trump's impeachment.

fify.

But if we all know how this ends, what reason do people have to stay glued to the TV or even pay attention to the proceedings?

You also know you're going to die, why live in the meantime?

It might play out even worse at the ballot box.

Maybe, but based on 2018 and last night's results that looks less likely everyday.

No. An impeachment is not a criminal matter. It's a political thing.

So the founders were wrong and corrupt Presidents who bribe foreign nations for his own benefit should not be removed from office? You seem to forget that is what this is about.

In 2010 and 2012, the Democrats lost 1,000 seats. Obama still won.

They were right on target in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. Weren't they?

Some were, some weren't. And all of them operated with a margin of error.

Thanks for the history, does it mean anything?

It means that winning a few state seats doesn't guarantee a presidential win. The 2010 and 2012 elections proved that.

You don't do an impeachment because it helps you politically, you do it to uphold the law.

That is, you should. Republicans DO impeach for politics.

Yes, McConnell has already declared a victory without a trial, and Graham refuses to read any testimony that has been released. Truly incredible.

"We ain't no lynch mob - we're a law-abidin' lynch mob! String the witch up!!!!"

Clever but lacking coherence.

What rule of law determines your vote?

Your first comment fits your posts.

There aren't different rules of law. There's a rule of law. There are times the law is wrong and there's a case for violating it - ask Rosa Parks - but otherwise, there's just rule of law, not 'what rule of law'. We have it or we don't. Unfortunately, we have it selectively, and Republicans largely don't have it at all for things they don't want to, like trump on countless issues.

So far, it really hasn't effected Democrats with state races

In fact, they're winning

No, but it shows there is still support for democrats
