The presidency is too powerful, and trump and Vance are too much enemies of the American system, that there is no solution involving addressing certain actions or powers. Even if there were on some actions, like cancelling his emergency tariff power, they'd remain hugely dangerous by abusing other powers. The presidency cannot be neutered enough to prevent that.

So the only solution, IMO, is the removal of trump and Vance. Anything less will just be more damage to the country. Whatever that means as a time frame - the 2028 election, impeachment sooner, it should be the target of loyal Americans. Of course, his wrongs should be fought in other ways, but removal is the only solution.

Well, there’s a clear way to get the result you and your fellow Democrats want: It’s for Democrats to win so huge in the midterm elections that they obtain a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress. But in order to do that, Democrats are going to have to suddenly become WAY more popular than they are right now.

Yes, and the elections have been terribly corrupted by our move to oligarchy so it's basically not possible, as it once was (FDR, JFK/LBJ). Those periods with Democratic super-majorities are when the US government was best, by far. Pick the ten greatest things the government has done and they are likely from those two periods. Only 1/3 of the Senate is even up for election.
