I'm proud of our country...

You're prolly the guy who knocked my mailbox down and stole our Trump signs.

LOL....no....I would never do that. I'm a pacifist. I just cannot understand the mentality of anyone who thought it was a reasonable alternative or a good idea to give someone who is as unqualified and ill-prepared as Donald Trump the job of the most powerful man in the world. It defies all logic. I think people often make rash decisions out of anger....this was not thought out well. I can understand the votes from the poorly educated. But beyond that.....

I would have been proud of our country if Hillary won to. People treat losing an election like a looming apocalypse. In a sense this election was historic. The polls, media, and elites had it out for Trump and forecast a near impossible win. The American people showed up despite that and put him in office.

Regardless of what party is in the Oval Office, America is the greatest nation on earth and that's something to always be proud of. I was proud of it under Obama and I'll be proud of it under Trump too.

Trump is not a victim. People called him out when he said crappy things. The idea that Trump is a clean candidate that had to boldly stand against a corrupt system is a pure fantasy. He has never been apart from the system from the time he was born. Being happy that he won against Hillary is fine, but this idol worship is disgusting. He is not a good person.

Wreaks of delusion.

I'm incredibly appalled at the result and I'm very disappointed in our republic. It says a lot and nothing good.

At the same time, I do not pray for Trump's failure. There is a human cost to that and I won't stoop to the level of the GOP after Obama's first election win. Trump is my president. Bigot or not, I'm not amused by this new rehash of #notmypresident nonsense and post-election protests that show no respect for democracy.

Trump's win is a low point for 21st century political history in this nation, but I think the campaign in general (both sides) was disgusting and hope to never see such poison again.

BTW, to people that are crying about Trump and didn't vote: **** you.

I didn't vote and I plan to complain about Trump whenever he does something I don't like. Deal with it.

You mean seein the consequences of electing a candidate without the experience and minimum qualifications for no good reason in 2008 should have taught us better? You are right. This is no worse factually, but we don't seem to learn.

It seems to me that Mr. Trump has a great deal of executive experience. He acquired it through running businesses, just as past Presidents like Washington, Jackson, Grant, and Eisenhower acquired it through being generals during wartime.

Obama didn't go in with economic policies guaranteed to start a trade war. I am actually worried about our economy and my family's visas.

- The President can negotiate trade agreements, The Senate must approve with 2/3 saying yes. Even though I am retired, I am concerned about the number of jobs going oversees, our National debt, and the type of jobs in the future the USA will have. I dislike the trend that some are relying on a fast food cook job as their primary source of income.

- Without going into specifics, why would you be worried about your family's visas?

Please start all of your complaints with, "I didn't bother to vote, but . . ."

Thanks.

I am also proud of our country, but for completely different reasons.

I'm proud of our country for its ability to balance power among its branches of government, so that transitions of power like this can happen without a full-blown revolution.

I'm disappointed in the voters who either are in love with Trump, or were so blinded by their hatred for Hillary that they pulled the lever for this orange lout. And I'm disappointed in those who didn't vote.

The inescapable fact is that Trump is everything your moms should have taught you not to be when you were little boys and girls. You may remember: don't be a bully; don't lie; don't make fun of the handicapped; don't grab the girl's private parts. I don't care how angry you are; there's no excuse for supporting someone like that.

So I'm going to make this clear: if you voted for Donald Trump, I don't trust you. I also won't do business with you, be friends with you, or really do anything for you if I know that this is what you did. Elections have consequences, after all.

Why? The ability to complain is not at all connected to voting nor is voting a very good way or the only way to get change. Furthermore, if you do actually vote and your guy wins then you're consenting with your vote to whatever they do, while if you don't vote at all you're not showing any sign of consent to anything whatsoever.

Being able to rationalize our shortcomings is one of humans' greatest strengths.

Do unto others...turn the other cheek, love they neighbor, let's unify our nation......**** it all you voted Trump I HATE YOU ALL!

What a hateful meltdown! If you apologize within a month, you'll be forgiven no questions...beyond that, you'll be stuck with this gem of a post for life. Think about it. I get the emotional loss, I sympathize with that part, but not the content...

I love you, and MaggieD, and Trump haters and shamers, as well as Trump supporters and faithful. Is that really hard to say? We live a life of relatively luxury in the U.S., and this year is apparently an experimental one...we can afford it, as you note, we're crazy resilient and our system isn't that fragile. Look, crapping yourself when in mortal danger happens, we all get it...but clean yourself up after please, else it leaves a mighty stink. That was gross, sorry. (<--- cheat sheet on what an apology looks like).

edit: Henrin too, love all around. I love that you didn't vote Henrin, its a farce of two options and not voting is one way to personally protest...but you may find if you force yourself to vote, you'll get more involved in reading actual policy/etc., stuff, to the point you make the best of the worst choice...instead of no choice..just a thought.

Wow. You sure live in the right town...

Hateful? Far from it. Apparently you don't understand the difference between hating a person and not trusting them.

I don't wish you ill. I just have zero empathy or compassion for you. I stand by my statement.

Meh, it was **** against **** and **** won. Both sides ran ugly campaigns built on no substance. I'm glad it's over, but I'm not so sure it's going to be different next time. I think the major lesson for the Republocrats this election cycle is that they can put up the lowest of the low and we'll still vote for them.

It is nice that it's over, but I am not convinced that this was a one-off. This might just be the new face of American politics.

Let us be fair. The Democrats got a lot of votes for the biggest crook ever to be put up for public office by any major US political party.

Qualifications are identified to become President in our Constitution
Qualifications and Requirements for the Office of President of the United States

As far as experience. There is not legal document listing what experience one must have. I bet your experience list would be different than mine.

True. Practically anyone can be legally made CEO of an organisation and it is a very stupid owner that chooses one that is inexperienced and poorly prepared. If you don't believe it, think of Obama.

I am a long time vocal Trump advocate in a very liberal area.....things are a wee bit twitchy for me at the moment. I was actually eating dinner last night one block off of the Melting Snowflake Street Party in Seattle last night, a little wing ding which produced 4 shooting victims.

Not fun.

And I have a daughter who is in full meltdown and another that is showing symptoms.

No, not fun at all.

But it is worth it. This is something that America had to do.

Trump is still a Hero to me.

And I like him.

I like him a lot.

I want to touch him.

But I can't.

We shall see.

I didn't think Trump would be elected. I voted for him because I wanted to send a loud-and-clear message to both sides of the aisle..."I'm sick of all of you." I HOPED he'd have a strong enough showing to give our politicos pause. And he won.

He won despite being in one of the dirtiest campaigns I personally have ever witnessed. His opposition threw everything at him. Despite being a political neophyte, he weathered the storm and pretty much gave as good as he got despite a press who ignored many important vollies.

Im proud of the electorate. They saw a press firmly on the side of the left. They saw through all the bull**** and elected an outsider who CAN make a difference. He walks in the door of The White House beholden to no one. And although he has big promises to keep, I think he'll do very well.

I'm glad it's over so I can go back to being friends with everyone here. Well, except for that one guy who called me a useless twit. You know who you are. I'm kidding!

Your Thoughts?

My thoughts are that your reason for voting for trump naive and really had nothing to do with reality.
