Everyone already knows that California residents are fleeing in droves from the liberal run state because of their oppressive covid restrictions, the absorbent tax rates, the sky high cost of living, and their refusal to address the homeless people that are taking over their cities. Well, it looks like Illinois is giving them, along with other liberal controlled states like NY and NJ, a run for their money when it comes to the number of people fed up and getting the hell out.

 
Is this where you promote an economically undeveloped, educationally underachieving, racially backwards state as a landing spot for people who want to move? I think you forgot to make your pitch.

Americans are leaving larger cities and moving to sun-belt states. It has nothing to do with covid restrictions.

Even 'moderate ' Democrats cannot abide the new breed of Fascist Liberal , hilariously self proclaiming as progressive and pro justice .

And they know that a bankrupt state like Cally Wally is just a step or two away from dropping over the cliff edge with its Chicom loving leaders ready to give away America to the CCP

Over the past couple of decades, northern California has prospered more than any other area in the country. In fact, the two wealthiest metropolitan areas in the entire nation are located in northern California.
But even though the region is absolutely swimming in cash, crime is completely and totally out of control and violent criminals are having a field day. We have never seen the sort of crime wave in the Bay Area that we are seeing now, and it seems to be getting worse with each passing month. etc etc

This doesn't tell the whole story. People are definitely leaving the state. The small population increase is almost entirely new births. It's impossible to find affordable housing there. There are silicon valley engineers making 100k and living in their cars.
 
I hope they move to Wyoming. It would only take 200,000 new blue voters to flip that entire state.
 
Do you people have any concept of what needs to happen for CA to actually lose population?

We have a gigantic population of baby makers here, and STILL we lose people. Think about that.

In 2020, California's growth rate was the lowest it's been in 110 years... The chart you posted shows that.

1.2 million more people left the state in 2020, than moved in. The only reason it even grew was births.
