Forty-eight employees of Cook County Clerk of Court Iris Martinez “no longer work” for the office after they were found to have defrauded the federal Paycheck Protection Program, which was enacted to provide forgivable loans to help struggling businesses stay in business in 2020 and 2021 during the first two years of the coronavirus pandemic.

Typical behavior in Crook County. No wonder it became a 3-time winner of "Most corrupt city in America" last year.

To be fair, I expect their will be a lot of people from red cities and states found to be exploiting Covid funding in the future.

Greed isn't a political ideology.

Good they've been run off.

Are republican states doing the same?

You mean rooting out criminals in government and making them accountable?

Because it sure looks like that happened.
Were they prosecuted? If not, they weren’t held accountable.
