Illegal abortions increase in Iran

Let me rephrase the question. If it has been determined that the pregnancy is going to be terminated, in America are their places where people without means will be forced to find illegal means to have the abortion?

I'm pretty sure that this can be a yes or no answer.
I am sure there could be. So yes

My position has nothing to do with the fact that abortions are a choice.

Yes, we've covered that you wanted to post that women's decisions are choices. Discussions about topical issues however, generally revolve around positions and views and opinions, etc. Did you intend to discuss the OP, here in the OP thread?

Where did I say that? I stated surgical abortion is a choice. And it IS a choice
For some--those lucky enough to be living in a blue state, or wealthy enough to flee their red state when necessary.

Devout Shia Muslims, who are the majority of Iran's population.
Maybe I should have said "Who in their right mind would want to bring a child into that world?"

More Iranian women forced into illegal abortions

Pretty much all abortion is illegal in Iran anyways, and the government has recently closed loopholes by ending genetic testing (if a fetus was showed to have genetic defects abortion used to be permitted). But the abortion rate is not going down as Iranian women instead more and more seek illegal options. Also remember contraceptives are very hard to get in Iran (but they are still legal, just hard to get). The Iranian government fears population decline and tightens the anti- abortion laws among other laws to grow the population, but most experts think it will not work. Similar attempts by other governments to increase the number of children born has failed. And it's not like Iran is doing much to strengthen healthcare, education or the labor market, you know things that actually could encourgage a young family to have children.
Sounds just like Trump's America, 2025.
