TORONTO -- Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff says the Conservatives have made a "mess" of Canada's economy and that his party will be the one to clean it up.

In a speech to the Toronto Board of Trade today, Ignatieff said a Liberal government, upon taking office, would "open the books" and conduct a full audit of public finances.
