Fascinating.

Out of about 2,400 rodent species, only 63 are considered carnivorous, with 1 species, the Grasshopper Mouse, being considered an obligate carnivore.

A few other species will scavenge, but not predate.

So indeed, a very interesting shift.

I heard it's squirrels who were evicted from their trees because the rent was too high and started doing meth. Gavin Newsom immediately pledged $50 billion dollars to convert 2000 giant sequoia trees into homes for 30 squirrels.
