Does it bother you that Biden says he is going to pick his VP by skin color and sex? Why not pick the most qualified? This is identity politics at its absolute worst.

Your president has built his entire presidency around "identity politics," which is just code for "keep all the non-white-males out." Quit whining.

That's just how the cookie crumbles in 2020 America.
"Diversity" is the buzzword.
Personally, I am interested in having the most competent and ethical person fill every single office in the land.
And if that means that every office is filled by, say, Martians, that would be fine by me.
The idea that all public offices should represent a rainbow of diversity is nonsense, IMHO. That's why our nation is in such big trouble today.
As who’s “most qualified” is subjective in several respects, why shouldn’t race or sex also be considered?Does it bother you that Biden says he is going to pick his VP by skin color and sex? Why not pick the most qualified? This is identity politics at its absolute worst.

Women and people of color need more representation at the highest levels of government. I for one am glad he's not choosing yet another old white man.Does it bother you that Biden says he is going to pick his VP by skin color and sex? Why not pick the most qualified? Don’t get me wrong, I disagree with dismissing entire other groups of people, based on their race and/or sex as a matter of fairness, but fairness doesn’t win nearly as often in politics as pragmatism.
Look at Trump and Pence. Do you think Trump picked Pence because he likes the guy and they share beliefs and interests? The two could not be more dissimilar. Trump needed a respected Midwest bible thumper to counter some of his own “character deficits”.
Rein in your faux outrage and hypocrisy, Logical1, you’re not fooling anyone.Race and sex is identity politics!!! In this case it is pure pandering on the party of Biden and his handlers.

1. Neither party is “my party”.But using race and sex to pander for vote is identity politics. Sorry if you cant realize the truth, and your party dont like it when this is brought up.
Yeah, that's the funny think. It's hilarious to see Trumpeteers suddenly so concerned with things they were deflecting and defending with Trump.
If Biden wins, we will see a resurgence from the right with concerns of power and limitation and appropriate behavior of the President.
Of course that is BS. If you check out the Trump admin, there are more black people that have been appointed By President Trump than any other president.

Ideally, as qualified as the person who’s job they may be required to ascend to.Laff-How qaulified in anything does one have to be to be VP?
Agree. We've had some buffonish VP candidates.
Quayle. Biden.Palin.
Race and gender are not the only characteristics used in identity politics. Wealth, position in society, religion, etc., are all used in identity politics. But race or sex would matter if the goal is to get more votes and it most assuredly is.

Surely, you recognize that Trump’s choice of Pence was strictly identity politics. .
Show me.
We agree? Damn! Never thought that would happen.Yea pretty much.
