How many times do Americans need to be confronted with their mistaken belief they are even close to being as "free" as other first world democracies, even many third world countries.
During recent times they've accepted the complete abrogation of their constitutional rights with allowing the TSA nonsense of stopping traffic on their Interstates miles away from any airport. The adoption of the idiotic "Patriot Act" and it's later red-headed-step-child Freedom Act.
Now you have an administration that virtually states outright their intention to throw the rules of law out the window, courts be damned!

Renditioning people to a foreign jail is the stuff of Dictatorships Americans used to vilify. Now they embrace the policy a misfit retard-in-chief authorizes at the stroke of his infantile sharpies.

The histrionics here are getting out of hand.

First, Avila was detained, not arrested or deported. The reason for his detention wasn't stated in the article and jumping to the conclusion that it was ICE related is a HUGE overstep.

Second. if you're an LPR your status can be revoked if you violate immigration law or certain other laws. a "Green Card" isn't a "get out of jail free" card.

Third, the article notes that Avila has been on LPR status since 1967. The purpose of LPR status is that it's a bridge to naturalization. Avila appears to have no interest in naturalization because he's had the better part of 60 years to get that done.
