I know exactly how Obama will win in 2012

Well I'm not saying they don't cost money. Food, water and shelter can become secondary PDQ when one is on a hijacked plane. Granted, the WOT costs money, but that cost may have to over ride this BS stimulating the economy plan by building walking trails and such.

Let's say we slide into a depression because of rampant debt deflation and so on. Would you:

1. Rather have the one in 4 odds of losing your job, not finding any other form of employment, losing your home, becoming homeless and being forced to live in a modern day Hooverville.

Or.

2. Having the 1 in 200,000,000 odds of being on a flight that was hijacked by a terrorist group.

Well, I've lost a TON of money in the market, so it's not exactly a foreign concept to me. What you're talking about is thw worry of a terrorist attack. I'm saying if there IS another attack, we have a whole new set of priorities. Right now, it's where you describe it. In 2012, we may have a different landscape.

I think if the Republicans want to trot the old terrorist attack pony again, bless them. They will be lucky if they win something more that a local dogcatcher position with that tired old saw.

Here are a few stats to consider from the 2005 National Safety Council.

<You are 13 times more likely to die in a railway accident than from a terrorist attack>

<You are six times more likely to die from hot weather than from a terrorist attack>

This last one is a real eye-opener.

<You are eight times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by a terrorist>
