...pretty quick.

Hyundai says it will spend $2.7 billion expanding part of the Georgia complex raided by ICE

The Article:

ATLANTA (AP) — Hyundai Motor Group on Thursday confirmed it is going forward with previously announced plans to expand its Georgia plant, just weeks after an immigration raid delayed the startup of an electric vehicle battery plant at the site.

As part of a broader investment strategy, Hyundai said it would spend $2.7 billion to increase production capacity at the Ellabell site by 200,000 over the next three years, to a total of 500,000 vehicles a year.

Easy to say things. Anything on paper?
I don't know, read the article...

I skimmed it. They said the plan to expand was already in the works, since earlier this year, and that the ICE raid set them back 2 or 3 months. Beyond that, there wasn't much said about what impacts the raid might have had.

When will you figure out how to post in the BN sub-forum?

Well the OP admitted not reading ALL of the article he posted so not a surprise he didn't read the rules on here.

fyi - you might read up on the requirements for the breaking news forum. Includes that thread title must match the headline.
Thank you. I've committed to reading the rules. Is there a way for me to delete the thread?

I think Hyundai doesn't want to cut off its nose despite its face. They've made the investments to build here, so they want to see it through if it's at all possible, which they're probably convinced it is now that the air has been sufficiently cleared.

That doesn't mean there won't be long-term consequences, though.

A wise man would have read the rules before jumping in with both feet, just sayin' ;)

Very true. Hyundai as a car brand is doing quite well in the US so the last thing they want to do is alienate American consumers. And they aren't investing because of anything Trump has or hasn't accomplished.

From AI...

Hyundai Motor is performing exceptionally well in the U.S., reporting record-breaking sales for several months in 2025, driven by strong performances in both electrified and core models. The company is investing billions into expanding its U.S. manufacturing, supply chain, and technology development, including a major investment of $26 billion through 2028 to boost domestic production and jobs. This strategic move is also a response to U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles, with Hyundai aiming to produce over 80% of its U.S. sales domestically by 2030.
