Hypothetically, what might Trump argue to cancel/postpone 2028 election?

Just wondering. Do we really think he will just quietly walk away in 2029? Or will he concoct some outrageous lie to justify not leaving office? Will SCOTUS rubber stamp Trump?
Yes.
No.
No.

Claiming his first term was stolen because of Russia Russia Russia and therefore doesn't count.

All I know is I take comfort knowing that Trump will be President in 2029 and beyond.

You should as well.

MAGA.

His mental and physical deterioration are accelerating so rapidly I'm expecting that soon we won't have to worry about any of this.

Trump won't try to stay in office past his term.

"Quietly"? Perhaps not. But he will "walk away" (leave office) just like he did in 2017.

Of course not. Do you think that will happen?
I wouldn't put it past him, especially if Dems win the senate or looks like they're going to win.

"There is so much massive election fraud, we can't let this happen. Therefore, we're putting the election on hold until we get this all figured out."
Not exactly sure what you mean by that, but I would say "no".

So, if Trump comes up with a theory that he must remain in office to protect the country from election fraud, you think SCOTUS would not go along with him? You think they would stand up to him?

I don't think he'll be around in 2028 judging from those ankles.

OK, but on the slight outside chance that he somehow manages to survive to 2028, how do you see it playing out? Does he just walk away? Or does he concoct some pretense for remaining as president?

I figure one of three broad angles of attack, but don’t have a strong opinion on which one they’ll pick:

1. Look for creative re-interpretations of the Constitution, like they’re trying to do with birthright citizenship. Aka “2 terms did not account for natural term inflation and the Constitution does not specifically exclude the possibility of Term Inflation! 2 Terms in 1940 years is like 3 in 2028 years!”

2. Simply ignore the elections. “The Election Authorities are TOTALLY CORRUPT so we are going to take Two Years to Fix the Fake Election Process and Make America Great! During this time our Most Successful Administration in History will continue to lead Strongly. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

3. Lawfare every possible alternative candidate aka Birtherism but with the full weight and power of the federal apparatus behind it.

Those would be my guesses.

Regardless, President Trump will forever live rent free in Liberal's heads.

Basically it is about the mid term elections. If the republicans maintain a majority and follow the style of bending the knee to whatever trump wants then it can be summed up in two words, "you're ****ed."

The Constitution grants Congress the authority to choose the timing of the General Election. In 1845, Congress enacted a federal statute to establish “a uniform time for holding elections” for the office of president and vice president. In order for a federal election to be postponed, Congress would have to enact an amendment to the 1845 federal law and the president would have to sign it.

Assuming he survives to 2028 he won't walk away. He will call election tampering and cancel the election.

Anybody know what this MAGA thinks Donald walked away from in 2017?
Last I checked, I saw him leave the WH and Biden enter in Jan. 2017.

Anybody know which rock this leftist was under when this happened?

He'll just say he's running again. He doesn't need an excuse.
MAGA will all cheer.
