People refusing to leave puts more strain on the first responders. They will have enough to deal with without having to pull people out of danger.
People underestimate Arizona all the time. In a couple of hours I can be from..
to...
to...
and of course to...
Nice, but you live here...
Sure do. That's where all the bars are. However, within a few hours in any direction I can be in any number of different terrains.
A lot of folks aren't evac'ing. It has the potential to be bad. If it it shifts westward any at all, it's going to be bad.
Good, invite me out. I'll probably be out there within the next couple weeks.
Will it be your first trip to the area?
Nope, been there many times. Will like stay in Mesa.
I'm on the other side of the valley. Enjoy your stay.
Yep. My girlfriend's parents won't evacuate. Their parents are their excuse.
Their parents who can drive. And are retired.
And my girlfriend doesn't want to even though they closed my office finally. And we have the opportunity to leave.

****s getting real now. Disney, Universal, Legoland, and SeaWorld all closing down for the storm.
I would take an occasional hurricane over living in Arizona.
Galveston, before Hurricane IKE had a somewhat mandatory evacuation, and issued toe tags to those who insisted on staying.
A storm like Matthew could have a 15 foot storm surge, and that is where the danger is.

I changed my mind. You're right Arizona is a **** hole. There is no reason for any of you tree sloths to come visit. Stay away.
It won't be long before it is too hot to live in Arizona so you won't have to worry about visitors.

Apparently Vanilla Ice is live tweeting storm coverage from his home on the beach. What a dip****.

It's Vanilla Ice so no surprise.
I saw him at a bar in the mid 2000'S. He is an ass and views himself still as a pop star. He played Ice Ice Baby four or five times in his set. A rock version a reggae version, the studio version, some electronica version, pretty sure he did another one as we left.
