Hunter won't do the public hearing after all

They haven't impeached Hunter or Joe. They should impeach Trump again, that's pretty easy.
If the Bucks and Lankfords keep piling up, the GOP may experience a transformation. Removing Trump may be easy if he wins. Removing his veep would also happen. There aren't enough MAGA in the country to force Trump on the public. This isn't Hungary. Americans will not bow to a dictator.

I don't give a darn if Hunter does a public hearing or not.

This thread was about the comical aspect of the Dem narrative of Hunter supposedly doing such a great job in the previous hearing vs it being unacceptable (via Hunter's side) for him to do that again in a public setting. The House side wants this hearing. The Dems, Hunter, and Abbe Lowell don't. Clearly, the narrative that Hunter did such a good job and that Comer would quietly walk away from a repeat of that kind of a supposed GOP backfire - was utter BS. It's Hunter's side who are slinking away from this public hearing - not the House side. And there is a reason for that. That reason is the Dem narrative was just that, a narrative, and a disingenuous one at that. Clearly, they didn't really think Hunter did such a good job of helping old Joe out.

They tie Hunter down to a chair in a tiny room, shine a light on him and say "sure, sure, we'll give you a cigarette JUST AS SOON AS YOU TELL US YOUR FATHER WAS INVOLVED IN FILTHY DEALS"?
Not necessary. A rather large majority of the public already well understands that Joe was involved in the filthy deals.

The truth is, this is all a bungled witch hunt, by people like Comer who can't handle Biden, so go after his crackhead son. And they can't even handle HIM.
They've successfully and methodically laid out piles of strong evidence. IMO, that was always what this country needed. I never expected or, frankly, wanted Biden to rot in jail. Unlike Dems with Trump, I don't have a TDS variety issue with Biden. All I hoped for was good old information and evidence - made public.

Yeah. I'm guessing the GOP is going to implode.
Maybe or maybe not. We'll certainly learn if your guess is right or wrong. In just 7 months now, voting will be well underway.

A rather large majority believes he was involved if the filthy deals? That's some heavy extrapolation and exaggeration of the poll data

.....and hopefully, for you, they will get around to doing that some day.

Two questions.

So what?
Who cares?

Just keep an open mind...
What did the repugs forget to ask during Hunter's 7 hour grilling? Nothing! It just didn't go the way they had hoped. Now they want another bite at the apple.

See, here's the difference: Hunter is obligated to be consistent with his previous, behind closed door testimony. The repugs, on the other hand, are under no such obligation. They are free to re-spin, misrepresent, goad, and make any false accusation they want, but just let Hunter make one misstatement, one slight inconsistency, and they will blow it up like it is blatant perjury, cover up, etc etc, ad nauseum.

"I refer you to my previous seven-hour testimony on this matter. I stand by my testimony. Next question."

Lame...

Guess the HOUSE MAGATS Comer and Jordan et al will need to subpoena him to appear before a public hearing, then hold him in CONtempt if he refuses to show up.

Right?

ep, the supposed great job Hunter did where he supposedly caused such a massive GOP backfire was a disingenuous narrative not unlike the Joe knocked it out of the park with his (divisive and angry) SOTU speech.
Just because you don't like the narrative does not make it disingenious. As usual when it comes to you speaking as to how and what others think you are dead wrong. Both men got well deserved praise for their forthrightness and honesty. The fact that Trumpers no longer have the ability to distinguish fact from fiction is sad but an oft-demonstrated truth.

We know where you pulled that out of.

Have the GOP reps produced witnesses who have said as much? Nope.
Have they presented documentation of such? Nope.

That's why they are hoping to have another shot at Hunter. If they can just figure out a way to make him crack, say something outrageous, it will all be worthwhile.

I wish I could be so sure.

Wouldn't you (and Hunter and the Biden team) want that supposed backfire to be very widely viewed by the public since, according to you, the previous one "backfired spectacularly in MAGAs face"?
It already has been. The transcript has been released. All one has to do is take the time and read just a little bit of it and you'll understand the massive backfire.

Comer was so disgusted by his own failure; he got up and left without asking any questions.

Total fail.

So why would he want to now go through another round when the House committee already conducted their closed-door hearing and rejected his initial offer to have it be public from the beginning?

Based on hearsay? A large percentage if Americans believe in Bigfoot, so I'm not sure trusting what people believe makes things real.

You seem to have identified the fatal flaw in the thinking of Trump supporters.

Actually, no. The public has access to the transcript, and the story of Hunter Biden's testimony was widely reported. What's far more interesting is why the House committee feels the need to hold a public hearing now, which makes it look like they want another round because they weren't able to get what they wanted the first time. That's a "them" problem, and not one for Hunter Biden.
