Actually, I used to like Bernie Sanders. But the DNC pushed him aside twice when he could have won in 2016 and 2020. Now he's pissed at everyone and is just trying to cash out before he retires. The DNC takes good politicians like Sanders and Gabbard and destroys them if they don't become loyal establishment serving puppets. It leaves the party with the worst politicians, like Biden and Harris. Schumer and Schiff. AOC and Jasmine Crockett. At this point the people would rather have a moldy shit sandwich served in a dirty ashtray.
 
Sanders might be a good politician, but he's still a socialist. I wouldn't vote for him. But notice how the DNC screwed him over in 2020, then screwed over Biden in 2024, so they could run the candidate of their choice. Never mind what the people want. So much for democracy.
 
I think Sanders was more of classic liberal of the 80's before the democrats sold their soul to the establishment and Big Donors. He was more European in ideology. He wasn't perfect by a country mile, but in 2016 he was 10X better than Clinton and probably a wiser choice than Trump. If Sanders wasn't cheated out of the primary he would have beaten Trump. But, half of the democrats actually preferred Trump to Sanders. That's just how ****ed up they are and how beholden they are to the establishment.

My whole point for this thread was to point out the utter and complete inability for the leftists on this forum and across the country to realize how bad they are eat up with both “the dumb ass” and TDS.

We have known for years that they are all eat up with the dumb ass. This point clearly shows them that they are.

The horror that they claim the American people will face because of Trumps tariffs was quite alarming. I didn’t believe it would be very bad but I decided to look anyway. Three percent lol. So they vote for someone promising 10 percent decreases in income while bitching about 3 percent increases in expenditures. You just can’t make this shit up. A bunch of imbeciles with Trump Derangement Syndrome. Pretty sad actually.

I agree that there are all manner of counter influences that will be at play as you pointed out. Also agree about the uncertainty and the markets.

There was a time when we could actually debate here on DP. No name calling just a good back and forth debate. That time passed long ago. Now they say magas are retarded, racist, scumbags etc knowing that I am maga to get around the name calling rule. The mods allow it so I just do the same back nowadays.

Example I said Trump did not order his supporters to attack the whitehouse on Jan 6th. I was called everything in the book including stupid. How do tariffs "level the playing field?" You flat out do not understand the concept:

In simple terms, a tax imposed on goods imported from another country, essentially making those goods more expensive for consumers in the importing country. They're a way of deterring importers to buy from their own countries before looking elsewhere.
I would like to see where you got that 3 percent number. From what I read, it will cost American families an average of $1200 yearly.

Obviously that must have been in the days before I got here. I don't care to stoop to that level, however. One thing I don't care about Trump is the way he likes to insult people, so I don't don't care for the tactic at all.

Average family income is 80k. Using the 1,200 number you highlighted above this equals about 1.5 percent not 3 percent. I got the three percent from an estimate by a large economic group. Seems, according to your numbers, that my source was twice as high.

Considering that you had numbers which made me wrong in the opposite direction to what you were thinking, it is you that just can’t understand the subject.


Add that you don’t even know which tax cuts I am speaking about or the democrats desire to end those cuts, you probably shouldn’t be debating this subject and should immediately switch from the fake news you obviously consume.

The Trump tax cuts saved Americans from 6 percent for wealthier earners to like 14 percent for lower income earners. It was set to expire and democrats vowed to allow it to expire. It was a campaign promise.

As you can see not only am I informed, I am spot on in my charge of hypocrisy and ignorance against you and your democrat supporting comrades. You supported a 10 percent decrease in income while claiming that the tariffs will kill American families and way of life.

Tariffs. They charge us more to sell our goods in their countries than we charge them to sell their goods in our country. Part of trade deficits happen because our goods are much more expensive because of those tariffs being imposed. It causes consumers to purchase less expensive home grown options in other countries. It also allows imported goods to remain competitive in our country.
 
We were on course to losing our status anyway due to the massive debt and continued deficit spending. Trump is trying to end the waste fraud and abuse which could be in the neighborhood of a trillion per year in an effort to lower that deficit. Same goes for the tariff problem.

The U.S. has most of the cards in this game. It would be very difficult for countries to change. Some will out of anger however they will be back once things settle down.

The alternative is to continue to be ****ed by other countries unfairly. To continue losing manufacturing to other countries. It was not only unsustainable but a national security threat.

Look China is currently number 2 and faster growing for manufacturing the medicines our citizens need to survive, what happens if we go to war with them. What happens if they simply decide to end imports to the U.S.. It gives China much leverage over us.

China also supplies much of the ingredients our companies need for medicine, batteries, and other manufacturing. Keep that in mind mind.
