I saw this video recently which was kinda funny. But what struck me was how much it reminded me of how Trump supporters and Fox News viewers look to the rest of us. They live with this virtual reality headset on which is presenting them with a virtual world, and they are operating and acting in that world. And then they wonder why they are getting hurt so much here in the real world.

It would be even funnier if they weren't taking the rest of us along on this virtual reality ride as well. It's hurting all of us.

Because virtual reality is a lot more fun and sells a lot more than real reality. Fox News and Trump both learned long ago that you can be far more successful selling people what they want to see, rather than reality.

I wholeheartedly disagree with your comparison between MAGA supporters and failed VR users.


Most VR users snap out of their delusions the moment they hit a wall—literally or figuratively. MAGA supporters, on the other hand, will keep going full speed into the wall, deny it ever existed, and then somehow blame Biden, Hillary, or Obama for the collision.


So please, give VR folks a bit more credit—they at least acknowledge reality when it smacks them in the face.
