Every time I see the commercial asking for money to help people become what God intended them to be I think to myself, what kind of god needs money from us for people to become what he intended. I thought god was all powerful and his creations are exactly what he intended or are we now so arrogant about religion we think god needs help from us?

For those who haven't noticed, organized religion and the abuse of it is my pet peeve considering I don't believe in gods.

If someone asks for money in a commercial, the last thing you should ever do is give them anything.

God doesn't need the money; it is all his money anyway.

the deal is, God wants us to give money to help others, he likes that kind of character in us: love, joy, peace et al.

the Bible says God loves a cheerful giver, and so do we. that is how things get done without forcing people, we voluntarily help one another.

blessings.

Yes, God wants his clergy to buy expensive cars and mansions. It's all in the Bible. You have to donate now or they might not be able to afford their third car.

if that is what is going on where you attend, then GET OUT and go church shopping.

better find a king james bible or a good study bible.

are you reading the bible up side down? hard to tell how people get interpretations this way. or maybe get a talking bible.

The logical reason to target the religious is that they are perceived as the most likely to respond to need. Whether or not this perception is right I do not know. The ones making these ads must have inside information. Our only respond should be to assess if it is a worthy cause. One that appeals to me I’d Lawrence O’Donnels’ K.I.N.D……kids in need of desks…no religious approach in that. It might be unfair to assume that every cause that comes with a religious hook is an unworthy cause.

Exactly……most attempt to choose a church that is line with their beliefs….meaning that they are already convinced of the truth of their beliefs….thus being a very ego influenced decision. I was lucky when I moved to a new city that did not have my denomination. I now attend a fundamental evangelical church which allows me a firsthand look at their shortfalls…..it actually makes me think of the much deeper meanings of Scripture…so that is very profitable. By the way, they are all nice and welcoming people but it hurts me to see the potential that they are missing. At least they have the good sense to avoid talking about Trump in church even though I know that they strongly support him. If that becomes manifest approaching election it might effect my attendance for that period of time……I want to retain whatever favorable view that I have of them…..funny how we give the benefit of doubt to strangers….but can become judgmental with some that we have more contact with….

I agree, it might be unfair but then again it might not? I would venture to say the Roman Catholic church as an organization, is one of the richest on earth. I would sooner give money to kids who need desks than something that has to have Jesus connected to it.

Yes, in your case and understanding that would be admirable…..

Ok, tell ya' what. I'll take all the money I have on me, throw it up into the air and god can grab whatever he/she/it needs, whatever falls back to earth I will presume god didn't need it and I can keep it. In my fifty adult years I have never seen America so divided and hate filled and many of these hate filled people claiming to be good christians.

it will all come back down unless a wind blows it away. you can't keep your money anyway, the blue criminals are devising new ways of getting it from you.

ok, lets pop the LID off from this game. this time let's look at Team Red....

Trump, hailed by some as the “savior” of America, orchestrated the destruction of our economy through his reckless policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. He shut down businesses, crippled industries, and forced millions into poverty, all while proudly proclaiming himself the father of the very vaccine that has caused more harm than good. Biden, Harris, and the rest of the political elite are no different. They carry on the same agenda, working together behind the scenes to ensure their continued dominance while the public is distracted by the theatrics of elections.

And now, the puppet masters behind the scenes are pushing new faces into the spotlight, setting the stage for the next act in this political circus. RFK Jr., once a vocal critic of the COVID vaccine, now stands alongside Trump, the man responsible for its creation. Elon Musk, a so-called champion of free speech, is nothing more than a government insider, controlling Starlink and working with the very agencies that spy on us daily. Everywhere you look, the lines between supposed enemies and allies are blurred. Politicians swap sides like it’s a game, and the media plays along, feeding the public a narrative designed to keep us divided and distracted.

The truth is, none of these people are on your side. The political system is a well-orchestrated scam, designed to maintain power in the hands of the few while stripping the rest of us of our freedoms. It’s a game they’ve been playing for decades, and we’re the pawns. Every election, every policy, every media headline is carefully crafted to keep us in a state of fear and compliance, ensuring that we never realize the truth: we are not free. https://christiansworks.blogspot.com/2024/09/none-so-blind-as-those-who-refuse-to.html

So, you voting for trump? Not much has changed from the Robber Baron days. The top ten percent in American own eighty percent of everything, leaving us to fight over the other twenty percent. To me, that is our major problem and corporations keep getting bigger and bigger and our choices smaller and smaller.
