On overtime / tips etc ?

Using this calculator - how much will ya'll save every year ?

I'm 24x7x365 on-call with few exceptions (PTO)

per this calculator I'll get in my pockets around $2400 extra every year

THANK YOU TRUMP AND GOP !!!

None, any saving Income Taxes are going to be eaten up with increased costs of goods due to tariffs.

The tax is just shifted from Income Taxes that we see on our 1040's and Pay Stubs to hidden taxes embedded in the cost of goods and services keeping the masses ignorant of what they are really paying.

so you don't work OT or get tips/gratuity etc - gotcha

one year I think I worked 1400 hours overtime .... that's a lot of $$$ back into the pockets of people who work OT

Why didn't they make it permanent? Why does it expire, unlike other tax breaks, after the mid terms?

Oh... and just to be clear...

From the website:

"Enter your weekly overtime premium (NOTE: only include the overtime premium amount. i.e. If your pay is $20/hour, and overtime gives you an extra $10/hour, that extra $10 is the premium. Enter the approx. total premiums you earn in a week.)"

Overtime pay will not be tax exempt, you will still pay income tax on the base amount, only overtime premium is exempt.

Correct.

As an exempt employee have to pay income tax on job related bonuses because of the extra hours. If I get a bonus I still have to pay income tax.

Overtime and tips should be excluded from income. The are earnings and should be included like the rest of us.

$0
And the Donnie calculator ignores all of the costs to millions of Americans.
The calculator is a nice bit of propaganda and that is about it

and yet I'll get around $2400 every year to spend vs the Fed Govt taking it

that's a bigly good thing

I think you’re allowed to claim $25K in tip income (under $160K of net income)? And now we get another 30K in SALT deductions? And I know we always have trailing write offs and deductions and depreciations, etc…to use that he doesn’t capitalize on every year.

So…our tax guy will work out the best utilization of deductions available under tax law.

That’s what we pay him for 🤷‍♀️

Thanks MAGAs.

Signed,
A high income tax bracket who really benefits substantially from the BBB

😂

And you are only looking at one side of the scale.
That $2400 will quickly be eaten up in higher costs on the consumer side, not to mention states themselves increasing various taxes to offset the loss of federal funds and programs.
At a mere $2400 a year you are being cheaply bought off to ignore the larger damages the BBB will create.

No you won't. You'll just spend it on hidden tariffs.

you're just hating now

you want to paint me getting $2400 less taxed as a negative because inflation might tick up - where were you 4 years ago when Biden's inflation exploded and no tax cuts ?

yeah, you were nowhere except making excuses, blaming Trump etc

this is a great thing for people working overtime and getting tips/gratuity - you can't take this huge win for working American's. Sorry buddy

f me Biden's first 2 years were killers and nobody got no tax breaks. this is another hate post that ignores the huge boost for working American's

if Democrats had control? there would be no tax breaks at all - this is a huge win for Americans who work hard

Who pays for tariffs? The overseas manufacturer or the American consumer.

Simple question.

Yep, tax breaks and plow it into debt - which is why the bill lifts the debt ceiling by (IIRC) 5 TRILLION dollars.

Lol no way i'd use a "calculator" from the Trump admin.

It will probably hurt my hometown significantly. Some of the rich people who live in an area near where I live now will benefit, and the hospital here won't close. The schools here are also a bit more insulated. Republicans hate the poor, so those are the people who will suffer the most.

Which page of the bill are untaxed tips on, again?

$2400 is a pittance.

🤷‍♀️

You’ve been bought off and are cheering on a tax bill that hands you scraps in comparison to the real winners.

You just can’t even see that or don’t want to admit that you’ve gotten the short end of the deal…and only temprarily 🤷‍♀️

wow you're richer than many in the USA if $2400 is pittance

"a very small or inadequate amount of money"

how much did Democrats lobby to reduce taxes? yeah ... zero
