Seems no one, especially those who like to lament or call people nazis won't answer, I thought I'd make this it's own topic.

out of a country of 350 million people, how many do you believe identify as national socialists, fascist, and/or white nationalists?

How big is the problem?

According to SPLC there are 90 neo-Nazi groups nation wide. Didn't see specifics on total individuals. And that's not counting White nationalist groups.
There are also 193 Black separatist groups.

Judging by the turnout at their rallies, the number may be less than 1000. But even at that, the number of true Nazis who embrace the ideology is dwarfed by those who just think they had cool uniforms.

So 90, then. Unless we have Nazis forming more than one neo-Nazi group.

Hard to say exactly, with so much of it moving to defuse communities that organize online.

We have about 8,000 in the traditional membership-based organizations. I'd say maybe double that.

We have more fascists than that, but not all fascists are white supremacists or Nazis. DP's own Kori, for example. Fascism as a political ideology can exist independent of racism.

There are at least 10 in the world. Given their age I suspect their biggest accomplishment in a day will be a successful bowel movement.

Death Camp Personnel

1. Auschwitz-Birkenau – 1,300,000 victims

2. Treblinka – 835,000 victims

3. Belzec – 600,000 victims

4. Majdanek – 360,000 victims

5. Chelmno – 320,000 victims

6. Sobibor – 250,000 victims

B. Einsatzgruppen Personnel

7. Einsatzgruppe A – primarily active in Baltics

8. Einsatzgruppe B – primarily active in Belarus

9. Einsatzgruppe C – primarily active in Northern Ukraine

10. Einsatzgruppe D – primarily active in Southern Ukraine

C. Current Individual Cases

(Country of current residence precedes site of crimes)

1. Gerhard Sommer – Germany (Italy) – massacre of hundreds of civilians in Sant'Anna di Stazzema

2. Vladimir Katriuk – Canada (Belarus) – murder of Jews and non-Jews in various locations

3. Alfred Stark – Germany (Greece) – murder of Italian prisoners of war in Kefalonia

4. Johann Robert Riss – Germany (Italy) – murder of civilians near Padule di Fucecchio

5. X – Denmark (Belarus) – murder of Jews in Bobruisk

6. Y – Germany (Auschwitz) – accessory to murder of Hungarian Jews

7. Z – Norway (Poland and Ukraine) – murder of Jews in various locations

8. Oskar Groening – Germany (Auschwitz) – accessory to murder of Hungarian Jews

9. Algimantas Dailide – Germany (Lithuania) – arrested Jews and Poles executed by Nazis and Lithuanian security police

10. Helmut Oberlander – Canada (Ukraine) – served in Einstazkommando 10a (part of Einsatzgruppe D, which murdered an estimated 23,000 mostly Jewish civilians)

Another question might be, if people are generally nonchalant about how many are open about it now ("open" being the operative word in your OP), how many more might come forward thinking it's safe?

Is any number acceptable?

How many KKK members should there be before we care about how many KKK members there are?

can't go by them, they do that to solicit donations. many of the groups listed are a single person, or the same people listed as different groups, or groups that have been defunct for a quarter century or more now.

The point being is that if there are less than 1000 in a country of 350 million are they really a concern?

can you link to this 8000 number?

Agreed
Sourced them because our friends on the left seem to regard them as THE source for reliable hate group info.
Personally I regard SPLC as a hate group. LOL

Supporters who are part of a group excluding the prison gang Aryan Brotherhood, probably less than 100 000 nation wide. Stormfront is said to have 300 000 users ( I expect dup accounts and some by people just wanting to monitor what it is doing.

As for people with strong viewpoints that support White Nationalism, and the concern regarding white genocide but do not provide or openly support to such groups I would put at approx 5% of the population

The state of the white supremacy and neo-Nazi groups in the US - ABC News

Given that recent tracking has shown increased activity and recruitment, the higher number is probably closer to what 2017's numbers will be (we don't yet have those numbers of course). They have been rising for the past 3 years or so.

As this notes, there's also a lot more than 90 traditional organizations. KKK has about 130, neo-Nazis have about 99, white nationalists about 100, and racist skinheads about 78. There's other racist groups as well which may not exactly be supremacist.

Proof?

Again, that uses the SPLC which I personally know counts defunct groups, and individuals as groups as well as other things that makes thier numbers suspect at best.

but lets say it's accurate, how many people are we talking about here?

So basically you discount whatever you don't like. Oook then.

Like I said, probably about 8,000 in traditional groups. If you add up the groups and break that down, it's a fairly logical number. An average of 20 people to a group. I mean, I'm sure some of those groups aren't very active. I'm sure there's some small-town group with only one or two members. But the average is reasonable and makes sense.

However, as I said, many younger Nazis and white supremacists don't belong to traditional groups, which tend to have other aspects that don't appeal to a younger gen (the KKK's religious ties, the dated subculture of skinheads, etc). They organize online, and show up to stuff as individuals.

So, as I said, I would say roughly double that: about 16,000. That's just my estimate based on the fact that I know these online orgs have enough membership to be very active, but also that a fairly high percentage of their registered users are just lurkers who like watching tragedy porn, so we can't just go on raw registration numbers. 10 or 20 thousand is enough to support a highly active membership for several online groups. So, somewhere in there is my best guess.

One Nazi is too many.

Not at all. I discount specifically the splc.

So, lets say 8k. and how many of these younger nazis do you think there are? you say 16k..... 20k total?

I guess about 6.

Curious: do you feel the same way about their numbers for black seperatists? I just don't see how this follows. Their counts rise and fall over time. It's not like their history shows an unmitigated rise.

I'm placing my best guess of the total -- including both traditional groups with registered members, and non-traditional internet-based organizations -- somewhere around 15,000 to 20,000.
