Wages are falling against inflation.

Job stability has been taken away from the working class.

Despite the fact that America has less "socialism" than Europe, America's income mobility lags behind much of the first world.

Employers are getting away with cheating workers out of their honestly earned pay.

American workers' productivity has skyrocketed over the last 30 years but their pay has utterly stagnated.

Unlike wages, the cost of living is perpetually going up.

Corporate profits are at an all-time high. The stock market is also at an all-time high. This is all going on while Capitalist apologists whine that corporate taxes are too darned high. Meanwhile Capitalist apologists still cannot explain how corporate taxes are so high when many corporations are paying no taxes. No, wait, most corporations in America do not pay taxes at all.

Most corporations don't pay those TOO DAMNED HIGH!!! taxes. Productivity has skyrocketed along with corporate profits and the stock market. But wages have been perpetually falling behind inflation for the same amount of time. The cost of living is going up. Job security is long gone.

How long are people going to tolerate this before the working class can no longer afford to live in the US, or a rebellion erupts and everything falls apart?

Who is actually going to step up and argue that these economic patterns can go on forever? The math says it cannot.
 

People deserve the government that rules them. Once they collectively decide they had enough, it will change.

And people do enjoy the narrative that is being fed to them. This forum is a prefect example.

We are talking passionately about ACA (good or bad) but no one is really talking about why there is a need for ACA or rather why the prices of preventative care, medicine and health care are so high to begin with.

Narrative is about gun control (yes or no) but no one is talking about why this country has such high rate of crime to begin with and why so much mass shootings.

The narrative is about Crime, but no one is taking about why this country has become a prison state, we have the most number of prisoners both per Capita and in total numbers. Think about this for minute a country with 300 million people has more people incarcerated than china with the population of 1.3 billion. US holds quarter of Worlds population in prison. Why? And now to make matters worst, we are dishing out prisoners to private prisons. Which is an interesting business model because the more prisoners we have the more they will make a profit and the more and longer they want to stay in black the more prisoners we must dish to them. NO wonder we are a prison state!



The narrative is about lost wages but no one is talking about US number 1 main export which is killing machines and Military industrial complex and how our business from making things has shifted to killing things and since 80s this country have not had one president who didn't go to war with somebody.

The narrative is about illegal voters but no one is talking about why only less than 48% Americans votes. or how we can increase the number by a simple thing as moving the election to a weekend.

The narrative is about election but no one is talking about why in this country you need obscene amount of money just so that you can run and as a consequence, our representatives are in a election mode 24/7 rather than actually doing the hard work and move the country forward.

until we circumvent the narrative and talk about things that are really important rather than superficial topic, we will deserve the government that rule us.

Well well well, I am impressed by your willingness to engage in straight talk. And that's some damned straight talk.

Our crime rate isn't so bad, really. Some countries that have stricter gun laws have worse crimes. The prison-industrial complex pretty much answers its own questions - it's all about cheap labor. Prison labor is cheaper than Chinese labor. War is good for business. Plus there are all those pesky brown people out there in foreign countries who are sitting on resources that belong to America. What you call drones we call squatter eviction devices. (Sarcasm, of course.)

It's entirely possible that America will degrade back to Feudalism. I hope we wake up before that.

So we all agree of these bad things happening to our country....Now...What are you doing to changes or have done to changed it.

have you written to your or call your representatives in congress and demand to end the shut down.

Do you support (not just by voting) but truly support candidates that don't take big corporate money?

Are you involved in your political chapter group are you involved in your local/country and state politics?

If yes then Kudos to you, if not, then why not? And you have no business complaining about something that you expect others to fix for you.

Sooner or later people should realize that voting every couple of years is not enough, We all have to be active participants in our democracy.

In Europe Government is scared of the people. In US people are scared of the government. The only way we can have government of the people is for people want to be part of the government.

What we need is economic growth.
 
I would say there are two core reasons as to why change is not enacted in this country.

1.) Lobbying
2.) Entertainment

We need to get lobbying out of our political system if we have a chance at creating an honest chance for the working American. I think entertainment is the core reason why people don't care, don't vote, and let the corpocracy obtain more and more power.
 
Corporations do not pay taxes. None of them do. NONE.

Every single business in the United States passes the cost of their taxes onto the consumer through higher prices. I laugh every time some ignorant gomer says "raise corporate taxes" because all that's going to do is raise the cost of whatever that stupid gomer buys from them.

It really is a war for the minds of the people... Where the government is attempting to centralize everything ad gain control over the hearts and minds of the masses to follow their agenda. (it's really not in people's best interests and so the agenda works best on a population focused on entertainment, drugged to the gills into passivity, and so many don't even consider the logic of what is supported)

However, there is another "force" that is "waking people up" to this agenda, and people are realizing that it's only through being active and aware of the world that is being built around them... If it was not for this awakening forcing saner heads on syria, we would be in another pointless war...

The crime rate overall is down about 40% in the past 20 years... The places with the highest crime are the places with the least guns.

The narrative is secretly, as Mao said "political power comes out of the barrel of a gun".... And if the only people with "power" are the state people, then the people will have no power to speak of and will be treated as such... This is the real agenda.

It works too because the argument is less guns less crime, so the more guns get taken away, the more crime and the calls for further restrictions gets louder.


Prisons are about sanctioned slavery... If you are in jail you deserve it afterall, right?

The us has more prisoners than china with somewhere around 5x the population.... We are not THAT degenerate of a people, it's just the laws carry disproportionate levels of punishment.... Consider rapers sometimes get less time in jail than pot smokers.


Well, bombs can only be used once ten need to be replaced... Which adds to the GDP.

The illegal immigrant issue is about promising free stuff to get them to vote (illegally) for certain agendas... With enough illegal immigrants this grows into a voting block.

Put t this way, this issue could be stamped out within a couple months if it was desired.

Two words: Paradigm Shift. We now live in a global economy with a global labor market. American workers are competing for jobs with people around with world including dirt poor low wage countries. Corporate America (or Corporate Earth) is completely fine with employing sweat shop labor on the Pacific Rim or India for pennies on the dollar and sending middle-class Americans to the welfare roles. Couple that with advances in robotics and automation and American workers are pretty much screwed.

The people getting paid in the new economy will be stockholders and the best think that could have put average Americans in the driver's seat, at least over the longer term was President Bush's efforts to allow American workers squirrel away not all but some of their income into private investment accounts instead of Social Security. The Democrats in Congress refused to allow it.

Look at the prison training going on already, random checkpoints for "DUI", which is starting to include blood draws, you gotta take your shoes off and go through an X-ray scanner and / or get groped in order to travel, whenever something "crazy" happens the area gets put on "lockdown" and people are told to "shelter in place", more and more schools are adopting tracking necklaces or bracelets to know where every child is at all times, etc etc etc... I could spend the rest of the page just going over the ways that people are more and more being treated as prisoners...

So if 1 was freedom and 10 was a police / prison martial law state, we are between a 5-6 and rising.

All Peace officers have become militarized and changed from Serve and Protect to Just arrest and incarcerate.

Justice system has become corrupt, rather than dealing with spirit of the Law most are blindly dish out Letter of the law

Finally Prosecutors and Judges are judged and rewarded by the prosecution records not Serving Justices. All because putting people in Prison is lucrative and very profitable. Correlation does not mean causation by still there is a link.

These are the very definitions of a Prison State

Did you know that the cost holding someone in prison for four years is higher than sending them to Harvard Universtiy (and we the tax payers are paying for that)

Put it this way, about one third are true party followers split amongst both parties, now roughly a third are aware of the levels of corruption to at least some degree, but then there's about another third but then there's another third that can barely tie their own shoes... That third used to be the majority within the past 10-20 years.

They had built this country so much wealth, the baby boomers grey lazy because this wealth allowed them great luxuries, and now this generation is so disconnected from the challenges of reality, that most of that wealth has now been squandered and lost through increasing levels of corruption. So you get to maintain this delusion that this wealth is infinite because you have never known anything else, and can't conceive of the levels of corruption that have grown because of the greatness of those just a couple generations ago.

As I said before, the proof of the awakening is in the fact that Obama did not successfully bring us to war with syria... Iran was next... But now because they backed off (Obama administration), they will be back in a few months with some other "tragedy" either real or contrived, that will attempt to justify war again.

Hell, you want another view of the contempt of the public, look at the government shutdown.

The government is spending extra money to block access to monuments that are not even run or controlled by government. Very little of government is shut off, beyond anything that provides a "service", the NSA opened the new data center, etc etc the stories keep piling up daily...

It's not so simple as that... But within the confines of 12k characters that covers the gist of how the power structures of the world intertwine.

This neglects putting the perspective of the UN, the IMF, world bank, and other institutions, and how they tie in, just for starters.

To stop them; well, it's a matter of bringing those "above the law" into the law... That would take a massive paradigm shift... The awakening I'm talking about that is happening and growing.

Consider, do you own your home (rhetorical)? Or is it the bank that does? Managed to own your home outright, is it yours? Not really, don't pay your house tax for a couple years and find out who really OWNS your home.

That aside, Most people are taught about getting themselves to maintain a certain lifestyle... So you willingly work your arse off to maintain this lifestyle, so it's easy to look past a little shady ***, because it's in your best interest... That subtly influence, that fear of losing it all.

There are more admissions from these people that I could list... You see, these people write books about what they intend to do... A prime example; brave new world. Are you aware that before he died, Aldous Huxley spoke to a class at Berkeley, where he said that both 1984 and brave new world were not as much fiction as blueprints for society.

He said in the speech that Orwell got it wrong and that such a physically offensive police state would not be required because, through the use of pharmaceuticals that there could e the creation of a "painless concentration camp".

I could literally find hundreds of examples of speeches, books, letters, reports, etc that are all publicly available, just not publicized publicly where the truly evil will admit to their evils and how they accomplish and or intend to accomplish them...

Also, what specifically do you think is left for the Fed and its government to do? Pump money into the streets instead of the banks?

When a government runs perpetual deficits and its debt stock grows to many multiples of average revenues, interest rates are cemented at zero because even a modest rise causes debt servicing problems right away. At the end of the day, the answers involve default, inflation, or some combination thereof. The government has made enough people and industries dependent on its loose spending that cutting the spending doesn't work because the economy withers, so it doesn't do enough to resolve the debt problems, and the same is true if the government jacks taxes.

There are other ways to phrase that so that it doesn't sound so ****ty (leave it to demand-side macroeconomists to do that), but that's what it is. Default, inflation, or some combination. We will pay for our improvidence.

It's Iran's own fault. If Iran would just cooperate with the IAEA (something which the IAEA has repeatedly stated that they're not doing) then they wouldn't be under sanctions. But I realize you're absolutely against holding Middle Eastern country's responsible for the actions of their governments.

Aldous Huxley may have been a fine writer but he was a bit of a flake as well who heavily experimented with drugs.

Here's a newsflash for you. Corporations, politicians and the media aren't some monolithic entity which is planning conspiracies. In fact corporations are in fierce competition with other corperations, politicians are in competition with other politicians and media outlets also compete against one another. The plots that you're talking about are again sheer paranoia.

Again, it will take a drastic paradigm shift in the people... That much is happening. 15 years ago it was WTO protests that attracted a few tens of thousands worldwide, eventually it became the occupy movement, then the tea parties and other groups are sprouting all the time... And they are starting to show the strength of their numbers.

This Is right, but is still an over simplification... because while there is a push towards a global monopoly of power, this is social Darwinism.

But then, "competing" companies like coke and Pepsi for example both have boardroom members who sit in the boardroom meetings of Brystol-Myers Squibb as example. The fortune 100 companies are deeply intertwined... But that's only part of the story.

Looks like it's all pretty well in the open to me. And the prison industrial complex is run by private companies, more than the government.

In every criminal investigation you need a weapon, a means and a motive. The weapon is our legal system. The means is the prison industrial complex. The motive is profit - American prison labor is cheaper than Chinese labor. More laws and overzealous cops means more people in prison doing the world's cheapest labor. It's right there in your face. I'd love to see you show how this is not happening.

Now VIPR agents are patrolling bus stations as well. You might as well say "If you choose to travel at all then you must submit to inspections."

That, sir, is the classic signs of a police state.

And... serving and protecting? Hardly. You just make up new laws to put people in prison who do not belong in prison. Your arguments are great for making dictatorships.
