Since ME2 is out, how did you finish ME1?

The first time through, I let the Council die. Worthless burecrats were not worth the chance my fleet wouldn't be able to take Soveriegn (sp?) out. However, I decided to refinih the game and try saving them, not because I thought I had made a "wrong" choice, it wasn't in character with my Paragon. I liked the "let them die" ending better.

I'm rerunning the game now with a female renegade... it's fun taking the total ruthless path. The council, they WILL die.

The renegade options are, sometimes, dumb ones.

They should have made it balanced in its coolness. They did not.

There are moments i take the middle path, just to keep from losing a potential money making oppourtunity. And I'm really nice to Ashley, cause I wanna see some hawt lesbian action... with humans, no blue sex! (my Paragon he went that route, and it was just... wrong.)

I saved the council, cause I'm a "greater good" guy. I guess ...

The renegade and paragon choices/results did not stand out as much as I thought they would though.

A rather timely question,

I never played ME1 until my current play through. I went backwards by playing and beating ME2 and then enjoying it so much that I decided to play ME1 both to port over a save for a second play through on ME2 (and eventually to ME3), and to remedy missing out on what is obviously a great game when it first came out.

I have just departed the Citadel for Illos (I just indulged in a bit of white on blue sex, and then went to fix dinner, and am typing while I eat).

I am playing through as a renegade, but I had maxed out that a while back, and am now almost 50% Paragon as well. I will stay true to a Renegade ending, I have shown my intolerance for the current council throughout the game, and will continue to do so for the ending (I should finish it this evening).

I played miss goody two shoes paragon my first go around in ME2, but when I port over my ME1 save I will continue play through as a renegade for my second run through ME2

I just finished, the renegade Miss Shepard ordered Joker to hold the fleet back to focus on Sovereign, the old council has perished, and a new all human council has been established with Admiral Anderson at the helm.

It is time to migrate her into ME2 and see how much damage I have done, and how much more I can do under the sponsorship of Cerberus. :2razz:

My first playthrough I went straight paragon and saved the council. The second playthrough was mostly renegade and I let them die.

Anyone know how ME2 works if you have no save files for ME1

ME2 works just fine with no save files, the ME1 save files give you a familiar face, back story, a few perks (exp, resources, money) and a bit of fluff in game when you run into people and references to your actions your character experienced from ME1. -Edit: there are a few potential story changes based on your ME1 actions - the fate of the council being one of them

I played ME2 the first time through without the carryover save, it was EXTREMELY enjoyable -so much so that I went back and played ME1 (I don't know how I missed out on that game originally) and I am now working my way through ME2 with the carryover save on insanity difficulty.
