House Republicans Vote to Allow Trump to Keep Gifted Qatari Jet After Leaving Office​

Republican members of the House Committee of Appropriations voted against an amendment prohibiting President Donald Trump from keeping the Qatari plane after his term.

In May, ABC News first broke the story that the president was going to accept a the gift — a Boeing 747 jumbo jet referred to as a “palace in the sky” — from the Qatari government. At the time of writing, the plane was undergoing a costly retrofit to serve as a temporary Air Force One while the actual Air Force One is going through its own upgrades.

ABC News reported earlier in the year that the Pentagon’s “plan” for the plane “called for transferring ownership of the plane to the Trump presidential library foundation” after he left office, which would still leave it under Trump’s control. <-- This is an obvious emoluments clause violation.

Trump is again violating the law.

 
So we will spend a billion or more to service it and he gets it for free. What is wrong with these GOPers, are they so afraid if him, I guess they are. Where are all of the MAGAs when it comes to this very dishonest deal? How can they stand by and see this happen and just say yes? Do they see what this makes them look like, a bunch of ass kissers whose only job seems to be to worship at the alter of their cult leader. If you thiink that it is wrong to call them a cult and they do nothing about this, they are certainly a cult.
 
They are a bunch of corrupt assclowns.

None of them is worthy of being called "American" and all of them deserve jail time.

If it's handing it over to him instead of refurbishing it, then that's probably the least bad option at this point.

If it's being refurbished to AF1 standards for a billion, and then handed over to him, that's the worst case scenario.
 
Fear not, all of the MAGA folks who repeatedly stated Trump was NOT going to get to keep it, and "what does a library need with a plane" when we were saying this very thing when the story broke. All of them? They will be along shortly to condemn this. Mark my words. Condemn it with veracity.

Not only that - would the gov need to spend even more money removing all the sensitive equipment after the end of his term? I have to assume they would.
 
The level of corruption in this administration would make a third-world dictator tip his hat.

That thing looks awfully to me like a bribe.
 
So, Trump, after just one deal, (And they are endless), will make himself a cool $500 million just for being president. He is by far the most corrupt, unethicle person to set foot in the WH. And the entire congress is just as bad.

Boy does America need a cleansing. We are quickly becoming Russia, and half the country is OK with it.
