It's a problem that Boehner agree's with the position taken by Obama?
No, apparently it is a problem that Boehner flops to his base?
It's bad that his base agree's with Obama?

I think it is interesting. One side is playing better politics than the other right now, but I don't know which.
when did obama oppose this?
Obama believes the tax cuts should be extended for a year. The House is taking up his arguement.
The T's in the House want to end the payroll cuts that benefit the middle class and give more to the millionaires. That's who pays their bills and I'm tired of it. Who are the fools that voted them in?
Then I guess that's Obama's position also since he is for extending the cuts also?
You didn't read the link, either the House votes on the compromise or the payroll tax goes UP on 160 million Americans. Double talk won't change that.
It's funny how Republicans criticize Obama if he can't garner 100% of his congressional caucus to overcome a filibuster, but Boehner gets a pass when he is consistently unable to corral even a simple majority of his caucus for significant measures like this one. I can't remember a less effective Speaker of the House.

Don't know what you are talking about. Boehner did "corral" his members to pass the 1 year bill that Obama wanted.
Most people don't even know that the Senate bill includes a $17 monthly surcharge on all new home loans and refinance loans to pay for this. Is that really a good way to pay for this when the housing market is already in the dump ??
Boehner isn't in charge of the Republican Party.
Obama has made himself in charge of the Democrats. At least, in any comparison between Democrats and Republicans, it's always Obama and the Republicans. Never the Congressional Democrats and the Republicans.
This is Obama's doing...not the Republican's doing.
To the contrary, the House Majority Leader is most certainly the leader of House Republicans. That's why the elected him Speaker. Obama is in the unfortunate position of having to negotiate with someone who can't even speak for his own caucus.
Nothing to think about. The House passed a year long bill, the Senate passed a 2 month bill. What's the point of going through all of this again in only two months ??
Obama said he wants a yearly bill, not a 2 month bill, so that is what the House gave him.
Why do you think it's a good thing to fight this same fight in only 2 months ??
Why do you think it's a good thing to add $17 to everyone's house payment to pay for this ??
Why can't Obama garner the support of the Senate Dems ??? He obviously can't garner enough votes there to get the year long bill he asked for ??
The House passed a bill larded up with poison pills that they knew perfectly well Democrats would never accept. Democrats have said that they should pass a temporary extension to prevent the tax from going up while they work out a compromise. Boehner can't even herd his cats into approving that.
Unlike the House, the Senate has no interest in passing something just to say they passed it. They will pass a year-long extension when they have something that can reasonably be expected to pass the House.
