Just when you thought the Hollywood Left couldn't sink lower . . . they produce a Big Lie film.

Dan Rather's Big Lie Hits the Big Screen

". . . Before the advent of the movie Truth, no one would have thought broadcasting a shoddy and immediately discredited report that ruined the careers of the journalists involved and gave their storied network a black eye would make the list.

Truth is All the President’s Men for reporters who botched their story about the president.

In their perversely titled film, Robert Redford plays Dan Rather and Cate Blanchett plays Mary Mapes, the erstwhile CBS News anchor and producer who collaborated on a spectacularly flawed September 2004 story about George W. Bush’s National Guard service. Their report should be taught at journalism schools for a long time to come as an object lesson in how not to attempt journalism. . . ."

What's funny is all the reviewers claiming that the story, about Bush, is true.

It seems they are ignoring the big picture here. It was so obviously false and so quickly debunked by bloggers that it became the turning point when people no longer implicitly trusted MSM and Internet blogging became a legitimate source of information. That's the real story the movie should be telling.

Dan Rather has a career-long history of lying to the People of the United States.

He began his career by lying about the Zapruder film, in the Kennedy assassination.

And now we're surprised he's still lying?

Emphasis mine.

Do tell. Is that all internet news blogging, or just the ones that you like?

Let's see:
Bush was AWOL or a deserter but was not prosecuted.
Bush was a trained pilot, at $1 million dollar expense to the taxpayer, that didn't fly.
Bush refused to serve in Vietnam, where his training would have helped the USA.
Does any of this sound like a patriotic Citizen?

Why are you bringing up such inconvenient truths? ;)

In other one year old articles about the movie, nothing indicates that there will be denials or any type of political angle one way or another. The only thing that bugs me about it so far is the new director.

Even though, it's anti-Bush. The trailers look good if you look at is as nothing but a fictional a political thriller.

None of the above is factual.

Figures it is Redford...

Where was Bush for two years? Why did he give up flying after saying when he entered he loved flying.

Nobody is interested in rehashing that bogus BS again Pete... Except BDS liberals and their pals in Hollywood.

I didn't start the thread, Jack did. When he said nothing was factual I responded with a couple of very valid questions. You are free to answer them, by the way.

Au contraire, it is precisely factual.
He even signed a paper stating he would not serve in Vietnam.
It costs a million dollars to train a pilot.
24 hours unauthhorized absence from your duty station is AWOL.

Honorably discharged. You would do well to read the link I posted.

I see. He graduated and matriculated to head of the TORTURE PROGRAM. Very honorable discharge, about like pond scum.

But isn't the film a fictional a political thriller?

That only makes it a more loathsome lie.

Yeah, seems that Hollyweird and it's celebutards have pushed forth their political agenda once again.

The next shock will be all the low information voters who'll take the film as gospel, when clearly it's far from it.

Figures it is Redford...

Yup. The furthest left of the lefts.

Nobody is interested in rehashing that bogus BS again Pete... Except BDS liberals and their pals in Hollywood.

Yeah, that's pretty clear.

Robert Redford, liberal of liberals

Dam. Beat me to it.

I'm not sure what you are trying to start here, I was just saying that was a big turning point where blogging in general was seen as more of a legitimate form of news media than just a hobby.

I guess I missed that big turning point. I can't think of a single blog that is news worthy. Could you list a couple of the good ones to get me started?

I still think of a blog as being like an editorial. More opinion than fact.

Sounds to me like you are excusing what Dan Rather did. Ends justifying the means and all that..

Not surprising though, liberals tend to have very low ethical standards when supporting ' the cause'.

What does any of the above slop have to do with Rather.......oh, and your line about Bush's training could have helped the US in Viet Nam.....I'll throw out a guess on your birthdate -yesterday.
List Bill Clinton's, Hillary Clinton's, Obama's, Biden's (know draft dodger) military backgrounds....................hello?!
