Hi!

Gia here. European born, spend the second half of my life here in the US. I align socially in-between the right and the left. I align more to the right wing with foreign policy - however I am not religious. I figured I would try out a website to discuss politics in a civil manner.

Have a great evening

Welcome!

Also, thoughts and prayers!

Welcome!

When you say you align more with the right on foreign policy do you mean the essential American defender of freedom right or the fascist Putin **** gobbler right?

No, we do not align with the Joe Biden/Putin agenda that is "ignore the obvious". I align with many people in the UK (where I am now) that is - let's refocus our efforts on our own people first, and then worry about world war later. If we can do something to avoid conflict...might as well.

I align to the right when it comes to spending, and smaller government. Unfortunately, europe has a problem with rather large government.

Interesting. What is it about Putin's agenda that leads you to describe it as an "ignore the obvious" agenda? What obvious things are being ignored by Putin?

Good to know!

I don't know how you view it in USA. In Europe, we know Putin wants to be remembered as someone with great strength. from 2020-2024 he got to roam freely because he knows the USA will not do anything to him. It would take a Ronald Reagan to make him stop. In UK we much rather a trump than to a Biden. Biden is nice and peaceful in terms of a personality. But he literally did nothing...at all. Trump, we shall see. So far Putin seems to be ready to deal with him...which is good for the world. A Russia/USA war is TERRIBLE for everyone. We need negotiations and we need them soon. My father in law is a veterinarian in Ukraine assisting (he is from Poland). Hopefully Trump, Ukraine, and Russia will be able to do what Joe Biden could not...and work out a deal. No one else needs to be hurt in this conflict.

That's great but you didn't answer my question at all. What is it about the Putin agenda that leads you to describe it as an "ignore the obvious" agenda? What specifically do you believe Putin is ignoring, and why do you believe it's obvious to you but not to Putin?

"ignore the obvious" is not just about Putin. its how europeans describe the conflict itself. I'm sure USA knows the money they sent is missing. also, Russia is employing soldiers from other countries. so we go about our day like nothing has changed...because USA world police has done nothing to stop it.

my English is not perfect sorry if I am not making this correct in the way I speak

No, you specifically used the phrase to describe Putin's agenda. So I am asking what it is about Putin's agenda that you believe is ignoring the obvious. Are you now saying that you have no criticisms or concerns about Putin's agenda, or that his agenda is no longer "ignoring the obvious" ?

How come every time I ask this simple question, you go talking about the USA whom I haven't even mentioned?

let me be more specific. you seem a bit cranky :(
1. ignore the obvious as we say in Europe refer to Putin demonstrating his "strength"
2. Ukraine stealing money from western countries that are not accounted for
3. at same time, we still value and love Ukraine people so we must set aside our disdain for terrible Ukraine leader, to help ukrainians
4. Putin is terrified of trump. he never feared Joe Biden which is why he chose to invade after trump left. he fears no problems when trump not there.
5. ignoring the obvious means europeans ignore the fact that its very easy to defeat Putin....it just takes show of force. such as the late 1980s. I'm not sure if you were present in Germany in 1988 but it was quite the spectacle.

Not cranky, just confused. Let me try again in very simple terms.

@GiaFromItaly believes that there is a Putin Agenda per post #6.

@GiaFromItaly believes that something in Putin's Agenda is "ignoring the obvious" per post #6.

Therefore it follows that the Putin Agenda is forgetting to consider something that @GiaFromItaly considers obvious.

Refining the prior statement, we can conclude that @GiaFromItaly believes that Vladimir Putin is forgetting something that is obvious to you but not obvious to Vladimir Putin.

So, I'm simply asking, what is Vladimir Putin forgetting to consider that in his place you would consider? You clearly believe that Vladimir is doing something wrong, but you seem very hesitant to say what precisely that is. I just want to know what you think Vladimir got wrong. Surely this is an easy question for you to answer, without having to ramble about Ukraine, the USA, Europe etc.

you misread. and you quoted yourself misreading, my friend. lol.

the quote was "Joe Biden/Putin" ignore the obvious. Not just Putin LOL

I didn't misread. I'm simply concentrating on the Putin part first. After you clarify what obvious thing Vladimir Putin ignored, we can then turn to Joe Biden and what you believed he ignored.

Why is it so difficult for you to describe (in writing) what Vladimir Putin ignored?

Oh I see. you are concerned of Putin and not his puppet Joe Biden? the whole point is that here in Europe we laugh at them both. I suggest you reread now that you know the two are compatible. you have been answered number of times. I think you're just sad face because you not get the answer you want.

you are centrist, no? what makes you centre and not one-sided as you show yourself?

That is one of the stupidest things I’ve seen posted of this site and I’ve been here since 2010.
I am not sure what is more embarrassing. You being here for 15 years on a forum, or thinking Joe Biden had control of Putin.

I don’t think Biden had control of Putin. At all. It’s why we confronted Russia for the last 3 years.

I think Putin has control of Trump. Which is why Trump is rolling over for Putin now.

if Putin has control of trump, why did my European nations favor trumps policies of 2017-2020 than 2021-2024? Putin did not dare invade during trump...he easily took advantage of the Obama and the Biden. are you now just seeing this?
