If partisanship is bad, then bipartisanship is twice as bad. When the Democrats and Republicans in Washington agree on something, hold onto your wallet.
 
In our compromises we frequently do pick the worst of both worlds, but thats because our elected leaders like the worst things about both worlds (mostly, the control aspects).
 
A totally ridiculous premise. Angering lots of people does not magically translate into something good.
 
it's funny to me that when it's the subject of their raises the bipartisan decision does not come down to the last second it's passed within seconds of it's reading.

It is obvious that he is now 0 for 2 having did this same caving in last December with extending the tax cuts on the wealthy despite him saying otherwise over and over again. I have no doubt that the Thanksgiving super committee results will be more of the same.

President Obama is standing in the middle of a bar fight against a bunch of psycho's where the enemy has pipes, chains, guns and knives and he is asking what weight the boxing gloves should be and if they are going 12 or 15 rounds. Its hopeless.
 

This assumes that Obama does not want to cut spending, taxes, SS etc.

I think he's a center-right politician, who campaigned on a center-left platform.
