It needs to be turned down.
But trumpism relies on it.
Yes, both sides are guilty, and examples are all too common.
But those in power set the tone.
Will Republicans show leadership here and tone down the rhetoric?

The trumpers will not condemn trump for using hateful and divisive rhetoric.
They will continue to mimic him and praise him.

It's like asking, will the rogue terrorist state show leadership and tone down the rhetoric against their targets? It's such a naive question, it defies words. Their power comes from that behavior. When trump wanted power, he asked pollsters what issue to demagogue on. They said immigrants. The rest is history.
