And the really weird part of that is that we had to take the prize back from the french.
The current record was set by the French in 2014 with 4028 participants at the Stade Amédée-Domenech attempting Ka Mate - the haka made famous by the All Blacks which originates from the iwi Ngāti Toa Rangatira.

really , interesting...I have to wonder about our New Zealanders on this forum and what their insight is into what is going on. I don't know the woman in parliament but whatever is going on there is inspiring. I know they were trying to take some of the rights afforded to the Maoi but not sure what the rights were...can you give us some insight? Are you Maoi or partially?

It is not that they are trying to take rights away from maori. What they are trying is to impose the ridiculous libertarian philosophy of we are all the same, all equal. But what they really mean by that is if we all behave as if we are white english speaking christians then we would all be the same and all have equal rights. But we are not and there is not one good reason for maori to give up their own language and their culture.

I agree...the Maori don't need to conform, it is the English that need to conform to Maori culture, not the other way around...if they want English culture, they can go back to England.

There is really no reason as to why to tribes cannot live together. It is just that the pakeha are used to the idea that there is only one leader one government. It is the way they have always done it. But maori are used to duality in leadership. Both the green party and the maori party have two leaders. And they function well with the dual leadership.
The country could also be run under that kind of system. Not two separate government one for each tribe. but one government with two functions. one for maori and one for pakeha. Giving recognition to the fact that the maori have the right to the land while the pakeha have the right to govern.

question, how much power does the parliament have? Is there a Prime Minister? What power does he have and what is his view on everything? Sorry, for the really dumb questions I know essentially zero about New Zealand.

The problem there is they're most likely second or third generation New Zealanders so can't come back to England.
They would have to go through the same process as anyone else.

Apply this vision to the US ...

Having grandparents from the UK doesn't mean you can just move here any more than if I had grandparents of US heritage.

actually, having grandparents does entitle a person to immigrate....there is a process, but it is able to be done

Fair enough.

First I've found the article tedious and it took forever to get to the point. Second I still don't know what it's about.

So is there an explanation?

We have an mmp ( Mixed-member proportional ) system. At the moment our government has three political parties in government. The national party is a right wing party, the act which are liberatrian far right party ( and the ones making all the fuss about the treaty) and the nz first party which should really be called the winston peters first and only consideration party winston is the leader of that party.
The libertarians are pushing their ridiculous ideology that every one is the same so all should be treated the same.
our prime minister is of the national party holding the most seats in parliament.

The explanation would most likely be that because it has nothing to do with you you lack the interest to bother trying to understand it.

but the basic explanation is that a ****wit of a libertarian has decided his ideology trumps reality and everyone should pretend they are all white english speaking christian. So then he can claim we are all the same and should be treated all the same.

If you’re not interested why are you commenting?
I didn't tell it wasn't interested. Importance I wouldn't have commented if I wasn't interested. In fact I asked a question an inquiry inquiries are a form of showing interest.

Lots of people think immigrants should conform.

I've never seen why, but it is a popular opinion for sure
