Capitol Police called to investigate swastika in GOP congressional office

The irony here is all that pride Rep. Dave Taylor (R-Ohio) has in his white christian fascist nationalism in private suddenly goes away when it becomes public.

People, please stop misusing the word ironic!

An explanation is now trickling out. Below from three different sources (The Independent, NBC, and Fox News via MSN). This certainly is much more plausible.

The news comes just days after an American flag with a swastika emblazoned upon it was spotted in the office of Rep. Dave Taylor, a Republican congressman from Ohio. An image of the altered flag, obtained by Politico, showed that the swastika was formed using the red stripes of the flag. It was pinned to a cubicle wall behind Angelo Elia, one of Taylor’s staffers. However, it is unknown who actually owned the flag.

Taylor has blamed the incident on a “ruse,” although he has also said that the flag was “vile” and “deeply inappropriate.”

“Numerous Republican offices have confirmed that they were targeted by an unidentified group or individual who distributed American flags bearing a similar symbol, which were initially indistinguishable from an ordinary American flag to the naked eye,” he said. “My office was among those that were subjected to this ruse.”

Multiple GOP congressional offices earlier this year received an American flag with an "optical illusion" swastika embedded in it, two Republican sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The news comes one day after Ohio GOP Rep. Dave Taylor called the flag with the swastika “vile” and “deeply inappropriate“ after the symbol was seen in one of his staffers’ offices in the background of a meeting.

One of the sources, whose office received a flag back in January, said it was initially difficult to see the flag's swastika with the naked eye, calling it an “optical illusion.” But once they discovered the swastika in the center of the flag, they threw it out, the source said.

The flag was spotted Wednesday in a photo of a staffer's desk in Taylor's office, prompting a vandalism investigation by U.S. Capitol Police.

Sources, including those investigating the issue, said the American flag had a swastika embedded into the ink or weaving, making it hard to see with the naked eye. However, when captured on video or in a still image, they said the symbol becomes clear. One source described the alleged manufacturing tactic as an "optical illusion." Another said the swastika was "easy to miss."

The flag was seemingly one of many dropped off at dozens of congressional offices early in the year by an undetermined group.

It certainly wasn't anything close to what the dumbasses on the Left claim it was.
It was a violent invasion and attempted coup by a crowd of pig-ignorant rednecks bent on derailing your election, because they objected to the result, and encouraged by the moron, Trump. What excuse would you offer?

I understand how upsetting it must be that your hopes and dreams of finding a hidden Nazi congressman is going up in flames.
Nothing is "going up in flames", except Trump's failing 'presidency', your flailing economy and Trump's disastrously backfiring tariff stunt.

Its an illusion, its a prank, its altered images, it's the Dems, etc. etc...
They will continue to throw out self contradictory excuses until the next scandal makes everyone forget this one
Some offered possible explanations. Sure. The illusion one, again, is from multiple sources, and fits the evidence.

The most far fetched explanation is the one posed by the left.

You were duped.

And it was easy.

You made the accusation you back it up. With the FULL quote.

You know,...so everyone doesn't think you're a liar.

11:25ish it starts. He said "very fine people on both sides". Yes he condemns (barely) the Neo Nazis, but then instantly goes after the victims and the left. He then tries to roll it back and still goes after the victims. Later on he has to hold another press conference via teleprompter to do damage control.

There are no "very fine people" in a group that includes Nazis and White Nationalists. If you choose to stay after seeing these Nazi scum, then you defacto support them and their views. Standing side by side with Nazis and White Nationalists makes you one of them...it is as simple as that. There is no grey area..Nazis and White Nationalists are the scum of the earth and should be labeled as terrorists and threats to humanity.

The Congressman's office calling the police is a nice touch. I have to chuckle at the idea of the cops dusting it for fingerprints in their effort to try and figure out just who would place a Nazi symbol in a Republican Congressman's office. Very perplexing!

Man, the nazis at DP really think the simplest and most plausible explanation is one where the person on camera didn't put the flag there.

The antifa decorators did this!
Go figure.

😃
Now you are calling other posters "Nazis"? good grief.

The least plausible explanation is the one promoted by the extreme left - that a congressional staffer would intentionally decorate his workspace with a swastika and use it as a backdrop for zoom meetings. Do you seriously think anyone would do that?

Ah, yes, he put it in his cubicle is the least plausible explanation.

Must have been leftist decorators! I rest my case.

😁

They will forget all about this, and next week they will again claim that Trump never said that.

Him intentionally displaying a racist symbol is the least plausible explanation.

I take it you didn't read the recent news on this? See #202.

And you accusing posters of being Nazis because they disagree with you is inexcusable.

Lmao, man, this guy really is trying to make nazis sound like people who wouldn't display their symbols.

Must have been leftist decorators! No further questions, judge.

😃

Sure - entirely possible that someone in the office did it. Again - I think more likely that it's a joke or a prank than the congressman has a flag waving neo-Nazi working as an aide.
I think they were there all along, they just keep stepping on their dicks.

Which is pretty amazing considering how small all their dicks are!

Can you provide where you saw that this staffer was a Nazi?

So, there should be other examples around to verify this claim.

So there’s other examples of these “false flags” and a demonstration of the optical illusion claimed has already been published and is being carried by all the news outlets, right?

Why did we not hear of their atrocity when it happened? Why would the narrative presidency not latch onto this when it happened?

So it can be proven. There were a bunch of them and all those who got them destroyed them rather than blaring it all over the media.

How like the MAGAverse letting liberals get away with trying to set them up to look like nazi’s!

Why did this guy not get the memo?

Why do all of y’all’s dismissals sound good…if you don’t think about them?

Does anyone need more proof that a person can literally have a nazi flag in plain sight, and at DP someone would complain that they're being called a nazi?

Lol, it was the HGTV leftists that redid his office with a little nazi flag!

😃

So it can be proven. ....

They did confirm similar flags had been sent to other offices. In some cases, they just thew them away. And in seriousness, this is a non-story beyond those who are easily outraged.

Feel free to contact the news outlets and suggest additional steps being taken.

The answer is, "no" - you just made it up, and are trying to cling to the narrative.

The answer to what? He is a nazi, dude had a nazi flag in his little cubicle.

Are you trying to gaslight us all while clutching your pearls?
