The OP's article uses the term "mass marriage," as do other articles. "Renewal of vows" or "re-commitment ceremony" or whatever, the interruption was a stunt, one that served to cheapen both "marriage" and the Grammies, in my opinion. What a challenge for the Oscars to top this, though.
I would agree except they were all already married, the ceremony was just renewal of their vows. Not at all the same as a mass marriage.
It's about men boning women with god watching and approving. Everyone knows this. Marriage has been exactly the same for 10,000 years. It's never changed. It's always been a dude and a chick. And what exactly is marriage about? Family? Love? The bonding of two souls? The joining of two families? The desire to live, laugh and grow old with someone through the good and the bad? I mean, seriously, what is marriage truly about?
Sickening, to say the least.
It's sad to see those with perverted sexual appetites flaunt their disgust publically.
Does anybody know the breakdown of who the couples were?
Gay, lesbian, interracial?
I'm a vehement supporter of SSM but this seems really weird and gaudy. Marriage is supposed to be a solemn commitment between people, not a publicity piece for an awards show. I also find mass marriage to be really culty personally.
The best part..... it doesn't matter. Couples got married.
You cannot possibly support “same sex marriage”, and still hold any respect for what marriage is truly about.
It matters if straight man-woman couple were excluded.
Reminds me of the movie Scrooged with Bill Murray where he wants to televise the baptism of the entire Zulu Nation.
Sickening, to say the least.

No surprise that the same bunch who supports degrading the concept of marriage, by putting forth such a sick mockery as “same sex marriage”, would also treat marriage as a cheap publicity stunt.

For the love of christ, why must EVERYTHING become political. Could it be at all possible to imagine an award show about Music being simply about...oh I don't know...music.
I don't care what the political stance is, sometimes It'd just be nice to have things in life to enjoy that isn't trying to make a socio-political message.
That was probably one of the coolest things i have seen on TV in a while.
as for its nature i agree
each couple and many of the audience members overcome with joy and emotion over equal rights and civility.
Living in this time of progress on this issue is amazing, i know i say it a lot but there honestly was a time where i never thought id see equal rights in my life time for my fellow americans on this issue, now its guaranteed.
Its not there yet but its getting closer!
Its just disgusting to see some of the negative reaction so something as love tho.
WOW THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
so many non-dry eyes in the crowd, men and women
queen latifah almost couldnt even get through it she was so over come with emotion
34 couples getting married together all equally old, young, gay, straight, different religions, different races, interracial and more.
Totally awesome and what AMERICA, FREEDOM AND RIGHTS is all about!!!!
#EqualRightsAreWinning!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that equal rights makes you so upsetits reassuring that america is doing the right thing
any facts to back up this claim?
it was pretty lame.
2.) The entire show was pretty Lame though Beyonce looked hot as usual. The Ringo retread song that was big when I was in HS was a yawner. I am pissed "The National" didn't win. Some serious talent there. I know the father of the twins Aaron and Bryce (Deshner).
1.) I liked the wedding part
2.) I do agree overall the show was lame in general and i think beyonce is overrated, hot of course but many say she world class how
