Assuming the basis for deportability is couched in the provisions of 8 USC 1227(a)(4)(B), then he's plausibly being removed under the provisions of 8 USC 1182(a)(3)(A)(iii) (making aliens engaging in "any activity a purpose of which is the opposition to, or the control or overthrow of, the Government of the United States by force, violence, or other unlawful means" removable, which is a reasonable interpretation of "eradicate western civilization," if he in fact said that was his aim). He could also reasonably fall under 8 USC 1182(3)(B)(i)(VII), which makes an alien deportable if he "endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization." As Hamas has been a designated terrorist organization for decades, this could apply depending on the exact nature of his statements. The administration is sending a clear message that speech it doesn't like will result in consequences, legal or otherwise.
These provisions of law are not new. A form of the provision making aliens who endorse terrorist activity deportable has existed for at least twenty, if not almost 25 years. This isn't a Trump thing.
