Statement by Prime Minister Carney on the Israeli government’s decision to expand military operations across Gaza

“Canada condemns the Israeli government’s decision to further escalate the conflict in Gaza.

This escalation will do nothing to end the humanitarian horror in Gaza or the deepening suffering of both the Israeli hostages and Palestinian civilians. Nor will it advance long-term peace and security for the Israeli people.

Canada calls for an immediate ceasefire. Hamas must immediately release all hostages taken during the horrific terrorist attack of October 7; Hamas must disarm; and we must see a massive and sustained surge in humanitarian aid, at the necessary scale.

Discounting Canada’s long held respect on the world stage as opposed to the new reality of America’s lack of same is a common mistake made by MAGAS.

Carney is savvy enough about geopolitics to know he was not making his pitch to either Israel or Hamas but rather to other nations hitherto sitting on the fence waiting to see which way the diplomatic winds might prevail.

Simple minds go straight to the “playground tough guy” ethos as their default programming dictates. That infantile thinking is what’s gotten you into the mess you’re currently struggling with.

No leader engaged in ethnic cleansing has ever been influenced by external pressure.

Netanyahu and Trump find solace from like minded people such as the member you responded to. Someone who will cheer on the slaughter of innocents including more that 15,000 children.

Canada, the UK, France and many others are squarely on the right side of human decency here.

They've condemned both sides and have taken the extra step of proposing solutions that would provide an opportunity for lasting peace for both Israel and Palestine.

Opponents of that message and roadmap to peace are people who want to see the murder of as many Jews or Muslims as possible, depending on which murderous side they've aligned with.

Given the fact that the same tactics have been repeated ad-infinitum for decades of the PLO, FATAH, AAB, ANO, ASG, AAMB, now Hamas with the ineffectual results of American involvement achieving nothing, one could accurately surmise the “inviting” has been going on for those same decades.

A reminder: “day one” of Trumps regime has come and gone - - 😏

Well, Hamas is not going to disarm because they and the Gazans are under attack, and it certainly appears that an attempt is being made to annihilate every man, woman and child existing in the area, so that's kinda stupid

I don't think Hamas is scared of what Canada will or will not do. Nor is Israel. Recognizing a Palestinian state is ultimately meaningless unless Israel and the US check that box as well.

I will be sure to give Canada's pathetic whining all the respect that it deserves.

This coming escalation is directly caused by Canada's recently expressed support for Hamas, and everything that is about to happen is 100% entirely Canada's fault.

That is BS.....total BS. I provided you Carney's statement and there are conditions that must be met by Hamas before recognition. It's the very opposite of inviting Hamas to repeat their atrocities. Mind you Israel's action and Trump's impotency will insure a brand new generation of terrorists are being created.

They are just happy to benefit from the headlines: Canada, France, and UK recognize a Palestinian state. They don't give a **** about the fine print. It was an insanely stupid move by Canada, France, and the UK, that will in reality make peace in that region more difficult.

The U.S. has had the most input for decades, virtually demanding primary influence in that region. During those decades, how has that influence historically worked to stifle conflict?

Compared to Trump's "day one" bullcrap y'all gobbled downlike lemmings, Canada's, the UK the EU and others statements at least have the semblance of common sense within them. This coming escalation is directly caused by America's staunch support for the genocide currently occurring in Gaza.

History isn't re-written by pundits on public forums. Your stupid country is going to carry the can for this fiasco. You own it.

It isn't fine print. IF these three countries recognize Palestine they will join 147 other "stupid" countries.

"Palestine, officially the State of Palestine, is a country in West Asia. Recognized by 147 of the UN's 193 member states, it encompasses the Israeli-occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, collectively known as the occupied Palestinian territories.

I will be very happy if I am wrong about this, but I am sure that when (not if) Hamas disregards all of Canada's conditions, Canada will still recognize the Palestinian state anyway.

If I am wrong about that, I'll come back here and apologize for misjudging Canada.

But Hamas has come to the same conclusion that I have come to. The reason for the pending escalation and combat in Gaza City is that Hamas believes that Canada now supports their terrorism. So Canada's statements have still managed to make everything a whole lot worse.

Trump is the King of stupid. He is so stupid he thinks he can end the Ukrainian/Russia war the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and that tariffs are paid by other countries. He even thinks Putin respects him!!! The only people more stupid than Trump are the Trumpers who believe his lies.
