Gorsuch CONFIRMED!

Now we have the SCOTUS, the POTUS and the House of Representatives......

To BLOCK any more gun control efforts.

I'd say the pieces are in place for defense.

Next SCOTUS appointment......we go on OFFENSE.

:2usflag:

As if Republicans were actually organized enough to pass any significant legislation.

You misunderstand.

Trump's next appointment will mean there will be no "swing vote" problem on the Supreme Court.

All that shaky 5-4 stuff will be over when we get a solid 6-3 majority.

:2usflag:

This should not be about "going on the offensive". This should be about justices following the law regardless of how one's personal feelings are or what they THINK the law should be. Hopefully Gorsuch will follow the law.

I understand. I just saw the debacle of trying to pass healthcare legislation, which they've had 7 years to work on, and they couldn't even get a vote on it. It was a total joke. And don't even get me started on the Bush years, and doing nothing to roll back the massive welfare state.

What going on the offensive means is that we can now challenge unfair gun restrictions--take it to the Supreme Court and WIN.

He does, which is what the bulk of the histrionics against him were inspired by.

Not necessarily. I think Kennedy is the likeliest to leave. Ginsburg won't leave during the Trump administration unless she dies.

Just wait until he follows a law in a way that favors liberals. The OP will be calling for his head.

Yep, it's not about the big guy or the little guy, it's about following the Constitution and ruling accordingly

This is not my problem.

The assholes won. **** the assholes.

Clearly the biggest problem in the nation right now is that we just can't get the guns we want.

Yes, instead of guns what we should give every home is condoms, that way the home invaders at least will be safe when they have their way with you.

And because Gorsuch is reported to be just that kind of judge, and I sincerely hope that he is, I trust that is what we got when he was confirmed a little while ago, I hope we have begun the process of returning the Supreme Court to its original function and integrity.

While your fantasies about sodomizing home invaders are noted, I think the more significant issue with firearms in the US is not to make it easier to obtain them, but ensure the wrong people cannot obtain them.

Unfortunately for the American people he exercises very poor judgement and applies law to a fault yielding absurd outcomes. As Franken so adeptly pointed out when discussing his decision in the so-called case of the frozen trucker.

If she dies, the left will have her stuffed and use animatronics to make it appear she is still alive.

No one saw Scalia dying. Never know what happens over the next 4-8 years. Gorsuch's appointment is the one thing many Conservatives hoped for when they voted for Trump over HRC. I suspect a lot of people will be on cruise control for a while.

So people in the US can not have guns in their homes?

No shotguns no rifles not handguns?

Apparently. Guns are scary and bad. So let's at least have condoms in every home to make sure that our home invaders practice safe sex.

Explain in detail exactly how this was so.

Note: this will require you to parse the opinions in the case, and not rely on the characterizations offered by a former comedian.

Ginsburg will probably be phoning it in from a nursing home when she's 112 years old.

But the unexpected can happen........as it did with Scalia.

Anyway, we're good now and with another appointment we'll be great.

A comedian trying to chide the good judge for using sound judicial following of the law, is one of the funnier moments of this. Franken is a moron.

Former comedian? I didn't think he was all that funny then, and he's damn sure not funny now, although he sure is a joke himself. How the hell did he ever get put on the Senate Judiciary Committee anyway? Did someone say "Hey, we have an empty seat on this committee, so let's put the least qualified Senator on the subject matter of that committee in that seat..."???
