GOP Prez Field Whittled Down - Haley Barbour Out

Haley Barbour is out of the race for President of the United States of America.

in other similar news - I will not be trying out to be the L.A. Lakers new center next year.
 
good. Barbour has excellent connections and political skills, but little chance, which would have allowed him to be effective as a distraction.

Barbour had alot of the national talent wrapped up - this decision frees them up, and Pawlenty and Romney pretty much already have their staffs allocated.

it suddenly occured to me. if Haley Barbour dropped out, but is willing to take over as his friend Daniels' campaign manager.....

It is down to the last 1 1/2 yrs before election believe it or not.

Is there still a possibility that someone in the Republican Party could come riding in like a fresh new rodeo bull rider. Currently there are some rodeo clowns of the likes of Palin and Trump getting all the attention.

Being an unknown could actually be a benefit as the current mood is anti-Washington.
Which is kind of funny when you consider the candidate barking anti-Washington is petitioning to become Washington.

Clinton was an unknown. Kerry was mostly an unknown (at least, was quite the underdog until near the end of the primary). Obama was a mostly unknown. They call won their nominations. The early front runners rarely win the nominations.
 
the front runner at this point in 2008, as I recall, was Rudy Guliani.
